Has anyone gotten one of these in the mail? It seems to apply to any Leaf after 2018 (I got two, one for my Leaf and another copy for my wife's Leaf)

The recall is simply an "owner's manual supplement" they also send with the letter about how to use the "defrost" windshield feature.

I read about it, something about the Defrost doesn't meet gov requirements if operated in a certain way, this is the fix to make sure it works as it should. Safety thing I guess to make sure the windows clear.

It's pretty amusing. The "fix" consists of printing out two pages of different instructions, and leaving them inserted in the owner's manual in the correct place. The dealership "installed" mine last week.

No, but I don't have such a Leaf. Indeed about the amusement.

One can see the details under associated docs at https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2018/NISSAN/LEAF/5%2520HB/FWD#recalls. Examples of associated docs:

As if most of us who own 4-year-old Leafs have not yet figured out how to defrost the windshield! But at least we know that Nissan is not yet completely defunct!

I got an alert about it from Carfax earlier this year. They said to schedule an appointment with my local Nissan dealer for a "fix". I was a bit worried about what the recall was about, but when I looked into it and read the NHTSA report, I just rolled my eyes...

I received the official "fix" in the mail from Nissan last week. I haven't been having problems with my defrost through our New England winters, but thanks for the tip, Nissan.
