CAN-Do: User Manual

A new version of CAN-Do will be posted soon (next few days, I hope),
with a new screen for exporting Log data to CSV files
(see description 8 posts above).

Ver 1.5.7 (not yet posted) can write CSV files, but still needs
a bit more Alpha testing and a few remaining options implemented
before Beta testing.

Version 1.5.8 of CAN-Do has been posted:

This version supports Exporting User-Selected data to a CSV file.

Also, the latest EV-CAN and CAR-CAN Recipes are posted in ver 1.04.

The latest CAN-Do supports writing selected fields to a ".csv" format file.

Note: Most Spread-Sheet programs will not import/handle more than 64k (or 32k) records.

I might need to add a "New-Value" type to the CSV-Output function to only output a record if the specified field's value has changed.

EDIT: This version has a BUG and does not display
the Recipe List properly on the Filters page.

Use the newer version 1.6.1 instead.

Added INI file Creation, and Update (Save), and Clear on Main Screen.
Added List all MsgIDs in order on Main Screen.
Added Plot Colors and Plot not Clear Graph on Filters Screen.

Note: This version is a BETA version, not really well tested yet.

In ver 160 (not on-line), today I added:
1. a "Quiet Mode" to suppress some less-important messages.
2. Auto-Log, that starts the CommPort Logging at program startup.
3. Added some more items to the INI file.
4. Added some missing "hourglass" (waiting-type) cursors.
5. Auto-Show the "Events" window for Logging Events.

I have yet to add:
1. Log to an Output Log File.
2. Auto-Increment the Output Log File Name.
3. "Plot" just a selected subset of messages, like for Graphing a Recipe.

Later, I intend to add:
1. handling Log-Type in Graphing a Recipe.
2. Graph by Time, not just the Log's Message Sequence Number.
3. Preserve a Graph when reading in another Log file.

I just posted version 1.6.1 of CAN-Do.

1. The No-Recipe "feature" in 1.5.9 has been removed.
2. Added "exporting" of all the Log Messages to a "text" file.

I posted CAN-Do version 1.6.2 last week to fix a bug (introduced in 1.6.1) in the handling of file-name extensions when writing out the CAN-Message.

I also updated the 3rd post just now, adding some more description of using the "IO Control" screen.
