    Why 200 miles??

you can't force everyone to change?? why not?? TVs are a great example of how the government mandated and forced a change in the way TV outlets broadcast and how people receive the signal. calling for more taxes is just a typically vapid method of inducing change.

How realistic is this with the leaf

just stop??? do you realize that not everyone has a conveniently located L3 near where they drive? in addition even if there are L3 units on the routes you use their dependability and availability isn't always guaranteed.

How realistic is this with the leaf

a new leaf would be able to complete this trip in most but the worst weather, not knowing your location makes it difficult to be more precise. another variable would be that while the car could do it for some time, after a little battery degradation a trip like this would become more problematic.

To upgrade home charging or not...

in your very specific situation you would not need to have L2 charging at home, the only caveat is would be the guarantee of access to the workplace EVSE

    Why 200 miles??

the only way for you to access to the Tesla SC network at this time is to be a Tesla owner. Tesla has offered to allow other EV manufacturers access to the SC network for a fee, up to now not one has taken the offer.

Will an '11 handle an 80 mile roundtrip commute in Austin tx

I can't speak for the car in question but for any LEAF if you cannot do a charge while at work your 80 mile r/t commute is just about impossible to complete. if you cannot charge each and every day while at work, forget about the LEAF. the I3 bev, MB b series, Kia soul E, VW golf E, volt/elr and...
