Clicking noise during acceleration and decceleration

ericsf, 19,000mi. we always drive in ECO mode & drive reasonable, ie no peeling the rubber  seems it was an internal failure of the reduction gear; nothing the mech could see visually, but could hear. BTW, I just heard the 2013 range is 130 mi.

Clicking noise during acceleration and decceleration

I just got my Leaf back after less than a week; clicking noise is gone :) They replaced the "reduction gear" which, I understand, is between the main electric motor & the transaxle. In a previous post I mentioned the "traction motor", but it was not that. All is well 4 now.

Clicking noise during acceleration and decceleration

Well, So far no one has guessed correctly :) A tech rep from HQ, less than a mile away, shows up @ the dealer; agrees with me it aint normal. He & mech spent about 2 hrs & then ordered a "traction motor". Waiting to see if that fixes the problem. Will let everyone know, probably by Fri.

Ericsf, Tks very much for the prompt reply; I have an apt with the dealer tomorrow to look into the clicking noise; Today, I drove another Leaf to compare; it had no clicking noise. I will suggest the lube :)

Clicking noise during acceleration and decceleration

OK; only 1 clk when I lift off the accel. pedal & 1 clk when I press the accel pedal; Mechanic said "shifting of the pads in the calipers" not brake application; perhaps a design issue; don't think CV joints or brakes. Tks for ur replies.

Clicking noise during acceleration and decceleration

I have a 2012 SL Leaf. Every time I let off the electric pedal & press the electric pedal, I hear a moderate clicking noise . I never noticed it before because the radio or road noise covered it up & I'm getting old. But my younger son heard it 1st. The Nissan mechanic said it was the brake...
