one month comparison between PGE E1 and E9A

Yep - E9a is pretty much a no-brainer for the winter months - its only in summer that you will need to be careful with your usage during peak hours.

    PG&E / CPUC - Non-Tiered Time Of Use Rates

Its there on pg 3. footnote 3 provides their "justification" for it. Its about 70kWh at the off peak rate. Basically if you were regularly hitting tier 4+ regularly might makes sense but I liked how they worded this :) 3/4 of the folks are going to be paying more... And I am just glad I did...

    PG&E / CPUC - Non-Tiered Time Of Use Rates

That was informative - I was always under the impression that the 6-9 peak allocation was something PGE must have thrust on the PUC - since to the best of my knowledge most all industrial/commercial activity ends by 5/6 pm.

    PG&E / CPUC - Non-Tiered Time Of Use Rates

Any idea what they plan to offer us? the current tou rate with solar is just not that feasible since the peak-rate starts at 2pm (so we miss about 2hrs of peak solar generation there) & peak rate continues on till 9PM which does not make any sense. I had written to CPUC earlier in the year that...

    Bay area electrical contractor recommendations

Getting it done through someone else still leaves open the issue that the Ecotality based contractor may not accept it. Is there some wiring/guage that is acceptable? 40Amp is what I believe everyone has said? Best would be if the contractor can separately bill me for the upgrade and bill etec...

    Bay area electrical contractor recommendations

So if I may ask : was the installation at a relatively new home and did they have to update your wiring? The problem with the older homes (like mine) is that they need to update the wiring as dave mentioned, and that is what makes it unfeasible.

    Bay area electrical contractor recommendations

Yeah - thats what the lady on the phone told me - she didnot quite know what the contractor needs to do to be on their list and I didnot press for more info but I had hoped to work with Robert. He had received favorable reviews from others on the board but said that he was having a payments...

    Bay area electrical contractor recommendations

I am looking for a contractor that can do Ecotality's blink EVSE installations. The default contractors they suggest are just out to fleece you! Older posts suggested Robert Whitaker(?) at a-1electrical.com - but his status is in limbo with Ecotality. Anyone else knows a decent contractor...

    Water pump issue

True - I am glad that the shop foreman could identify the issue so quickly. I was more concerned whether there could be any long term damage to the battery-pack from this pump going bad.

    Water pump issue

Quite frankly I have never heard a water-pump on my other (non-ev) cars - the ice dwarfs out any other noise there :) The only thing I can compare it to is my pond's water-pump and that makes more of a 'gurgling' sound and this noise was less like a pump and more like a fan - something like a...

    Water pump issue

I didnot want to make this my first post to mnl, but others at the bayleaf event suggested I put this out so here goes: I got my leaf end-aug and the next day had noticed a sound when driving and when charging that seemed to be like a loud fan. On opening the hood its source was unclear. It is...
