Leaf not charging for second time

Did they also give you a software update? I got just mine, but my understanding from elsewhere on this forum is that the software update applies to more than just the Wattstation (sorry, forget where that was posted). See my posts on the G.E. Wattstation Problem Thread for more on that. And good...

GE WattStation Problem Thread (Was: Dead on Day 2 of use.)

I got my G.E. Wattstation fix applied yesterday, and thought I would post the "part number" for the OBC reprogramming from my paperwork. It seems strange to have a part number for a non-physical repair, but it's # 296A0-3NA3A. The update, counting the technician being on the phone to Nissan for...

GE WattStation Problem Thread (Was: Dead on Day 2 of use.)

After reading that siai got the "Wattstation fix" without having the OBC burn out first, I called Nissan again. I and pointed out that even though they had said before that only those whose OBC's had to be replaced were getting the update, here was someone with a Leaf exactly the same age as...

GE WattStation Problem Thread (Was: Dead on Day 2 of use.)

Here's an update as promised - I just got a call from the Nissan representative. Nissan is only doing the software fix for those who have had the OBC damaged; they will roll out the software fix for others at some indefinite future time. As for me and everyone else who has a Wattstation, we can...

GE WattStation Problem Thread (Was: Dead on Day 2 of use.)

Here's an interesting tidbit: I called my dealership to set up my annual battery check, and asked about the GE Wattstation software fix. He said there was nothing in the computer for me under my VIN. Then I called Nissan, and mentioned this thread on MNL and the fact that someone posted they got...

VA charges $50/year EXTRA for electric vehicle registration!

Governor McDonnell's plan to eliminate the gas tax (replacing it with a sales tax increase) and yet charge electric vehicle owners an extra $100/year tax has just passed it's first stage in the Virginia legislature. I have written my representatives pointing out this is unfair. I would like to...

VA charges $50/year EXTRA for electric vehicle registration!

IMO, a fee to compensate for not paying gas taxes is no where near as bad as what is being done in Virginia - WA is equalizing things, VA is just picking on H/BEV owners unfairly. That's the part I object to: unfairness.

VA charges $50/year EXTRA for electric vehicle registration!

Re our governor's plan to eliminate the gas tax, increase the sales tax by .8% to replace those funds, AND add a $100/year tax on (hybrid and) electric cars in addition to that higher registration fee - total $150 extra; is it even constitutional? What about equal treatment under the law?

    Disabling panic alarm?

My dealer turned off the panic alarm for me (same reason as you). So, if like me, you don't feel the need to ever have the panic button, the function can be disabled. The car alarm (for a break-in) is still active, however.

    How's your 12v battery health?

After I read this thread, I decided I'd better take my Leaf's 12 volt battery's readings... pretty crummy; 11.78 V. I live in a poor reception area and I know Carwings has to try several times to connect from the few times I used it when I first got the car. I haven't used Carwings since the...

Locking vehicle: Locking chime(horn) now stopped sounding ?

I think I know what your problem might be. When I got my Leaf, I did not want the horn to sound when locking/unlocking, and asked if it could be set to not beep. The technician pressed some keys on the fob in a particular way to disable the horn sounding. (If I remember correctly, it was two...

Meeting with Nissan, Phoenix, Jan 8, 2013, 6pm, drinks prior

I, too would like to request that you ask a couple of questions that have been on my mind. I suspect that not all that many people bought a G.E. Wattstation, but I am one of those that did. Every time I call Nissan, I'm told "don't worry, it's under warranty if you have a problem" even though my...

    LEAF paint....soooooo thin!

Last week I went to Ziebart's to have my Leaf given a pre-winter wax. (They go crazy with road salt where I live.) When I mentioned the thin paint of the Leaf, the manager said "let's see" and got out a paint thickness measuring device. I have never heard of one, and have no idea if it is...

What Kind of LEAF owner are you

I own my Leaf; charge only at home (L2 on a G. E. Wattstation), sporadic driving (20 miles is my longest round trip), low mileage for sure, low speed (average speed to date is 18.5 mph), bought to both save the planet and more important; stick it to our enemies in OPEC. Virginia is hot in...

I just have the Leaf; (previous car was an eleven y.o. Prius).

    BLACKOUT CARWINGS Event

When I first got my Leaf, Carwings kept failing. After quite a few phone calls to Nissan and following their suggestions that had no effect, they finally figured out I had to re-send the Carwings user ID and password. But then it stopped again. Re-sent the user ID/password. Failed a week later...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

It seems to me that as long as those who speak in public clearly point out that it is the lack of a TMS in the Leaf that is the problem (and that nearly all the other EVs out there have one); the public should not reach the conclusion that there is a problem with EVs, just that Nissan had poor...

    Cell Balancing 101

Thank you for talking about this... Nissan refused to answer my questions (two different reps.) as to whether cell balancing takes place during an 80% charge, saying "that is proprietary information". This really annoyed me, since I cannot imagine what negative outcome there could be for Nissan...

If Nissan offered to buy back your degraded Leaf, would you?

Absolutely not. One reason: I no longer trust Nissan Corporation. I do not like a company that stonewalls every question, trivial or important, that I have asked. I had the first year Prius, had many, many questions, all of which were answered promptly. I was never told "that's proprietary...
