    Nissan Slashing Over 10,000 Jobs

Hate to say it, but the only reason I bought my 2015 Leaf S was because I knew it wouldn't have a POS Nissan CVT. And that car ended up being one of my favorites that I've ever owned. And I've owned a wide variety. So I traded it in for a 2019 SV. I'm liking that so far, with the exception of...

The new Nissan Leaf is a better car than the Tesla Model 3?

This thread has inspired me to go do a comparison thread for my BMW Z4 and Jeep Liberty. They both run on the same fuel, so they are direct competition for each other... obviously. Totally apples to apples, I'm thinking.

How to pull a Leaf out of a ditch?

That is more like the Volt is built. I installed a hitch on my 2016 Volt and had to "carefully" remove almost all of the stuff that was shown flying all over the place on that video. After removing the light assemblies, rear under-panel, and bumper skirt (or skin or whatever it's called), I...

How to pull a Leaf out of a ditch?

You can't get lost in the woods if you never go into the woods. Yeah, quote from a Nicholas Cage movie. That's all I got.

    What is the "Mid-Year Change"

I talked to Nissan EV customer service. They had never heard of it before and are not sure what it means. He theorized that it could either be the update related to RapidGate, or something else. He actually came over here and read this thread while we were on the phone. So there you go. They...

    Long trip...saw one electric car

I had no idea that Colorado was a big oil state. Well that's what you get for selling most of it to Texans, I guess. Did you see any Volts? They are more difficult to spot ont he Gen2 version since they look so much like the other Chevy sedans.

    Homemade cargo cover?

If you don't mind the impact, just don't want to get cut, the most stylish solution is to use the door trim, available at an auto parts store, designed to attach to door edges and keep them from getting damaged when opened into other things. I've used that before, in similar situations, and it...

    What is the "Mid-Year Change"

Good to know. Thanks for the explanation. Looks like the car is still available, and the price has gone up $1,000. So I guess he didn't get it.

    What is the "Mid-Year Change"

I posted on this thread earlier and the post is now missing. <cue twilight zone music> Well, did you get it? Or was it some sort of bait and switch scam? And again, mine had that same description on it and never heard what it means.

battery replacement options in the future ?

I bought a 2019 about 3-4 weeks ago and it also listed the mid year change. Still no idea what that means.

battery replacement options in the future ?

New feature for the 2020 Leaf... smaller wheels and rear drum brakes. Sorry, couldn't resist.

    Homemade cargo cover?

I built one out of the 1/2" foam insulation board from Home Depot. Got the stuff with aluminum foil on both sides (radiant barrier). It's easy to make for the 2019 because the sides are straight back and it can be easily removed by just pulling it straight out to the rear, unlike the one in my...

battery replacement options in the future ?

The more and more I look at the weird front lip/nose on the Model 3, it always reminds me of the ugly girl episode of The Twilight Zone. How the others looked. https://evcompare.io/cars/tesla/tesla_model_3_standard_range_plus/...

battery replacement options in the future ?

Interesting point. Something that has bugged me as well. How do these low profile tires stand up, in general, in terms of efficiency? But yeah, it seems like these days, everybody wants them. And they are frequently not the ideal solution.

battery replacement options in the future ?

Yeah, what leftiebiker wrote. The big problem is the ground clearance for dips and uneven transitions into parking lots and through some terrain changes. I have to slow down both my Z4 and Volt for this. The Leaf, not so much. The tighter (rougher) sports suspensions that they make a big deal...

8-inch screen in Leaf ePlus --> Non e-Plus 2019 Leaf

Yeah, not worth it. If you really think "size matters" that much, get the Model 3. It's turning into a major undertaking just to get rid of the gull-wing center console.* *Yeah, I know that the center console isn't really a gull-wing design, but it sounded cooler when I wrote it that way...

battery replacement options in the future ?

Another thing to consider, when comparing the Leaf to other EVs is that a lot of the "leaf hate" (or just unacceptance) out there is caused by overactive hype. We have gotten to a point where a lot of the reviewers (real and faux) have subscribed to the following philosophies as nearly absolute...

battery replacement options in the future ?

Over and above the whole environmental issue, try to focus on the personal (self centered) benefits of the car: No gasoline exposure. Gasoline is a horrible chemical to come into contact with on a regular basis. If people knew how dangerous and unhealthy it was, they'd wear a chemical...

Gen 2 Leaf... Did You Add Knee Pads?

The dealer contacted Nissan Engineering and they said... The trim piece you are interested in is part of the center console assembly 969105SA1B. It's not available separately. You'll need to acquire the assembly to get that part. The price at the dealer is $545.45 The price online from an OEM...

When does the 2020 model year hit the street. What’s new.

My comments were based on that link in the other forum (TCF). Sorry for the confusion.
