FCEV progress in the U.S.--NOT: https://insideevs.com/news/392360/2019-sales-hydrogen-fuel-cell-cars-us/ In other news, water is wet and the sun is expected to rise in the East today.

    Tesla Supercharger Network

Update on Bishop Supercharger: Tesla has finalized their agreement with the City of Bishop for their supercharger!!! Long overdue. This was unanimously approved by the city council during their meeting of 9/23/2019. 12 stalls (not clarified if Urban, classic or V3) Location: 151 S...

    Porsche Taycan - A 300 mile EV

True, but it would still be a problem using Mammoth as a home base for day hikes for 5-6 days, which I did recently. Some of our drives were up to an hour each way, no problem filling up in Mammoth at the supercharger. Did another recent trip for day hikes with Bishop as our home base, which...

    Porsche Taycan - A 300 mile EV

Since I wouldn't be able to supercharge the Taycan when taking a trip to Mammoth Lakes, it would be a non-starter for me (in addition to the price). My used 2013 Tesla model S was $43,500 and still has 250 miles of range. I don't think there will be much competition in California.

    Official Tesla Model 3 thread

The Tesla doesn't have a guess-o-meter (gom). The rated range is if you drive 65-70 MPH and don't hot rod around at slower speeds. The advantage of rated range is that it lets you know how/if the capacity of your battery pack is changing. It might be useful for some owners if Tesla also had a...

    Official Tesla Model 3 thread

Interesting. I have found the rated range to be dead on for my 2013 model S85. I typically drive 69 MPH on the freeway. If I start a long drive with 200 miles of rated range (80% charge for me) and drive 120 miles the rated range left is usually close to 80 miles. This is true even when I...

    TSLA corporate outlook

Not necessarily. We don't know what percent of vehicles are affected. Reportedly the problem began with the 16.1.1 software. Take my 2013 Tesla Model S85 which now has 24.4 software and 91,000 miles. Yesterday I charged to 90% and rated range was 224 miles. Two years ago when I bought my...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

The exact reason I gave my 2011 Leaf to my nephew (who lives in Seattle) and bought a used Tesla model S 85 kwh. No detectable battery capacity loss in the two years I have owned the Tesla.

You should have bought a diesel car if you wanted to save the world

That is the problem with the Leaf. Mine lost about 30% in 6 years. However, my 2013 Tesla Model S just hit 90,000 miles (25,000 miles put on by me). It is on the original battery (I checked before purchase what work had been done under warranty) and has 250 mile rated range (95% of its...

    Teslas blocking level 2 chargers?

Of course they have a right to charge there but in my opinion it is poor form unless they have no home charging available. I would never charge my Tesla at an L2 public charger unless in dire need. This is from a former 6 year Leaf owner and current 2 year Tesla model S owner. The only public...

IEVS: Tesla Model 3 & Audi e-tron Charging At IONITY Side By Side: Video

Yes, but you forgot the most important line in the story--model 3 increases range faster than any other BEV. So it is still ahead in amount of time needed for charging.

    TSLA corporate outlook

I put in 80-85% of miles driven in Tesla Model S. The other 15-20% in old Toyota Camry. The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Toyota and Subaru Agree to Jointly Develop BEV-dedicated Platform and BEV SUV

The way you get to mass market BEV is by building a lot of them. Note that Tesla improved the EPA range of the refreshed model S by 10%. That is how costs come down for all of the components. Batteries are improving rapidly in cost and at least for Tesla retaining capacity longer. I know you...

    TSLA corporate outlook

My 2013 model S 85 kwh does not have any issues with the screen. Before purchasing I asked what repairs had been done during the first 65,000 miles. There were a few issues with door handles that got fixed, but nothing about the screen or MCU. I still have 2 more years warranty on the battery...

    Official Tesla Model 3 thread

That is probably because you have a Leaf. I became disillusioned with my Leaf after 6 years as the range shrank from marginal to small and gave it to my nephew in Seattle. It works perfectly for his needs. I am very happy with a used Tesla Model S which I have had for the last two years (and...
