Yep, 8 seems to be the standard. Tesla is opening 6 SuperCharger sites in Norway next friday, most of those have been reported having 8 spaces (though one of them has 4 and one might have 10).
I'm putting up a 5.17kW system here in Norway. It will produce enough to drive a Leaf around 13,000 miles per year. Total cost is about $7500, and it's all DIY except connecting the inverter to the grid (which is a 6' cable).
You can get chinese panels now for around $0.52 per watt.
Temperature seems to be the key, yes. My Leaf is 1 year 9 months old and I have done lots of QC (up to 4 one day which got me to 8TB). But our climate is pretty cold (Norway) and I never get above 5TB without QCing. In winter it is usually somewhere between 1TB and 3TB.
We haven't seen any...
My Leaf is has just passed 1,5 years old, 15000 miles. I don't have the Android-app since I don't own any Android-devices, but I have a SOC-meter. 80% charges always end at 231, 100% charges usually end at 278 or 279. No measurable degradation on my usual 60 miles trip so far.
No, I don't think so.

Model S - Panasonic NCA, 245Wh/kg (http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/includes/pdf/ACA4000CE254-NCR18650A.pdf"...
The cell weight is know, 7000 cells@46g equals 322kg or around 710 pounds. I doubt the packaging weighs the same as the cells.
1100 pounds is the weight I have seen referenced the most.
Yeah, they probably call it a sedan since "permium hatchback" doesn't have a nice ring to in in the US. Still, by definition it's not a four door sedan.
The Model S is a five door hatchback, just like the Leaf. If it were a four door it would sell a lot less in Europe.
BTW, European demand is picking up at a brisk pace after winter. Currently running at 15-20 reservations per day.
Rgaeding (3), how so? My Leaf has NO regen at all when the battry is full and when it's cold I sometimes won't get any regen before SOC dips below 70% or so.
The subsidies aren't "real" money like in the US. At least not the important one which is no import/registration tax & VAT. Example: I'm getting a Tesla Model S P85 to replace our other car. With full taxes I could not afford it so no taxes missed there. And I would never spend the same amount...
I love in Norway where we have a lot of snow. The Leaf is a VERY competent winter car in my opinion. Not as good as AWD cars of course, but the weight distribution and more effective traction control makes it better than most other FWD cars.
But the tires are of course more important than car...
The 3.3kW charger draws 3.7kW from the grid and dumps 3.3kW into the battery. I'd wager a guess that the 6.6kW charger will pull 7.4kW from the grid (if available) and dump 6.6kW into the battery.
Or the 6.6kW charger might be more efficient and be content with 7.2kW (which is 240V@30A) to put...
Harris Ranch only have one, but is currently being expanded to 10 (!). So they are working to scale the system properly. My guess is that quite a few remote locations will be fine with two stations (sharing 120kW of power between them) while others will need 10 or even more than that.
My other car will be a Tesla Model S P85 with all options except child seats, blue with CF interior, grey leather and dark grey 21" wheels, when I finally get it. Probably around September/October (I'm EU P1,088).
Now ? VW Touran diesel...
Wow, you pay $960 more than me over two year and still have to pay something for the phone (I guess subsidized isn't "free" ?). That's a bad deal if I ever saw one. I'm coming out way ahead paying $1000 for a phone and kepig it 4-5 years while paying $35/month.
I guess the market for used...
I found these recent datapoints for EU:
Jan.25 2659
Jan.31 2701
Feb.5 2886
So 20 EU per day since Jan.25 and increasing to 30 per day since the Get Amped tour started.
US:
Feb.1 18845
Feb.6 19019
35 per day in February so far.
