NYT says EV not worth it. Leaf = Versa

In Norway the price of gasoline is today in excess of usd 12,- pr gallon, and we are a oil producing country as well. And this is what gasoline should cost in USA too. Also, the incentives for EV's are fantastic: No import taxes, no 25% MVA, usd 70,-/year road tax (as opposed too usd 475,-) ...

Help me decide (all feedback appreciated)

I would of course go for the Leaf. I live in Norway and I think 70 miles should be well within the limits even i wintertime. But of course, if you could charge at your client then that will be the better option as you could charge only to 80% and give your battery an easier life. What puzzles me...

    Official Mitsubishi i-MiEV Thread

Really...I have tried both and you can not compare the Leaf with an iMiev. The iMiev is a professional made rebuild of a small japanese city car. The Leaf is 2 classes higher by any measure ! The iMiev has a 16kW battery and the Leaf 24kW, 50% more than the iMiev but due to (i guess) greater...

    Reduction in Battery Charge Capacity?

No. There is a hidden capacity in the battery and the Leaf will not let you go all the way down to 0% to avoid damage.

    Cold Weather Package Features

I would also like to know if the heated seats are reset to off if the car is turned off. I like this better. I have a Toyota with a simple switch that is either on or off, and I do not like the heating in the seats unless it is very cold. My wife uses it all the time. In my BMW it has to be...

    Range Chart

Why does the metric chart start at speedy 70kmh (45mph) ? 56 kmh (35 miles) would be the most used one where I live at least. Great chart thou ! :)

Why not a fossil fuel heater for the Leaf or BEV's?

In Norway it is quite common to install Webasto and similar heaters in electric cars for winter use. My hope was that the Leaf with is preheating would not need this. I live in an area where temps during winter is rarely below 20F, and my commute is not very long.

Is 83 miles with big elevation changes possible?

Is it not of much importance how many people/cargo he has in the car ? I am just thinking that weight is very important when climbing mountains.
