2800 CAD worth of repairs on MY 2011

Thank you everyone for the replies. Very informative. CAA Quebec inspection is a pretty good idea; I remember reading about them when I was about to sell another car, but using those centers to independently check a garage estimation is something I didn't think about. Again, thanks everyone.

2800 CAD worth of repairs on MY 2011

Not yet; I was first wondering if the repairs made any kind of sense, since I know almost nothing on what those things are. Since you seem to say they do, I'll post in the Canada forum, about the prices. Ppl in Montreal or Ottawa, or even Toronto, would be the best to compare prices with me...

2800 CAD worth of repairs on MY 2011

I'd like some comments on the following repairs estimation I got from my Nissan dealer. My LEAF is a 2011 MY, which is currently at 52,000 km. I use it for very short trips daily. Estimate (note that the prices are in CAD (1 CAD = 0.75 USD approx right now): Driving history sample

    12v battery needs replacing?

I have both (jumper box at home, jumper cables in trunk), and am plugged in at work 2/5 days. But I was talking about the brakes, not the battery. For the battery, I'll do some more testing, and try to see if I can get a voltage reading using the OBD-II port too, and decide once I know more.

    12v battery needs replacing?

Will try that. I also got a digital multimeter; I'll hook it up while I do this test, to see how fast the 12v battery drains. And will also check how much I loose when I leave the car in the garage overnight. 16,000 miles. Pretty sure I can do another year, maybe even 1.5, and get them replaced...

    12v battery needs replacing?

4 years-old LEAF 2011. Went to the dealer today (changing tires, yearly battery test), and they tested my 12v battery, and told me it should be changed soon. The Diagnostic Charge report they gave me says: Rated: 55B24 Measured: ---- CCA Voltage: 14.46V Elapsed: 00:05:02 Amp Hours: 0.0 State of...

LEAF low sales and lack of advertising

    Big ad in two of the biggest french newspapers in Quebec: http://www.aveq.ca/actualiteacutes/une-pub-nissan-leaf-dans-les-quotidiens-la-presse-et-le-soleil-daujourdhui-obtenez-un-rabais-additionnel-a-lachatlocation-en-devenant-membre-aveq" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

EVSE Upgrade with shipping to Canada.

Simple trick to track USPS packages in Canada: use the Canada Post website. Simply enter the USPS tracking number on the Canada Post website, and you'll get much better tracking, once the package crossed the border. Once the package crosses the border, Canada Post adds their own sticker to the...

I indeed do. Thank you very much for the pointer.

    Jumping another vehicle

I've seen someone else ask, but didn't see any answer: can someone visually point out where the DC-DC converter connection should be made? Maybe just an arrow (using Preview on Mac, or Paint on Windows, or something) on any Google-Image-obtained photo of the LEAF's engine compartment...

    Buying a Leaf in Canada

I find it weird that getting a regular Communauto account is so complicated, while getting into the LEAF beta is so easy... Maybe they want to lower the friction for the beta, to get more people to try it. I registered for the betas myself, even if I park my own LEAF on the Plateau every day...

    Buying a Leaf in Canada

Only charged at home, and 99.9% of the time on 120v. I have a 240v adapter, but I don't need it really. Farthest I went is the Oka beach. 120km back and forth during a pretty hot summer day, with the kids. Arrived home with around 10km left. I almost went to ski Mont-Blanc with it (117km from...

    Buying a Leaf in Canada

It gets applied at the dealership, after the sales taxes. So they calculate MSRP + taxes - $8000 and that is the amount you need to pay / finance. I didn't finance, so wouldn't know. And anyway, it changed since I bought. But Nissan has a nice tool to estimate this...

Canada : 2013 availability and price

Nissan still hasn't given a firm date, but on Twitter, on June-17, they said the 2013 LEAF would be available in July in Canada. As for what options & how many will be available, at what price, anyone's guess would be as good as mine... My guess would be: limited quantity, selling at MSRP, with...

Want cheap carbon cabin air filters?

Anybody interested in getting pretty cheap carbon cabin air filters? RockAuto has 11 in stock right now, so I could order them, and resell them to anyone in Canada that would want one. Price would be the 7.75 CAD + shipping + customs, if any. Would still be less costly than anything you might...

One-touch (mobile & web) shortcuts to Carwings commands

The password is different from the Carwings dashboard password. The password you need to enter in the config file is the password you use to login on the Carwings website. I think the username is the same, but again, it's the one you enter to login on the website you need to use.

One-touch (mobile & web) shortcuts to Carwings commands

They are home screen shortcuts to those URLs. When you click a link on the main page, click the "Bookmark this page" link, and when it's done loading, hit the button in the browser to share the page (it looks like a curved arrow). Choose the option to create a shortcut on your home screen.

One-touch (mobile & web) shortcuts to Carwings commands

In fact, I just committed a change on Github to not need that anymore. If you re-download the zip/tgz from Github, and replace your files (don't replace your config file, I didn't change that), you should be fine. Cheers.
