Evaluations of Ariya appreciated from owners who also have had Leafs.

I haven’t test driven an Ariya, but I’ve read everything I can about it, and I'm very disappointed. First off, the lack of 'one pedal' driving is a turn off. Second, the low distance on a full battery is not attractive. Third, Chademo is dead. Either CCS or NACS would be a better choice...

Nissan Leaf Wiper Blades: Part Numbers and Compilation from Forum

I bought a 14” rear wiper blade online for my 2019 Leaf, and I had to remove the entire wiper arm to replace the blade. Just unscrew the 10mm nut holding the arm to the actuator and pull the arm off. Easy peasy.

Rusting bolt on front suspension strut - potential safety issue

After reading about this issue several years ago, I checked my 2019 Leaf S, and sure enough no covers although no water or visible rust (drought in S. California!). To be safe, I sprayed the nuts with WD-40 Specialist Silicone, and got covers from 2 old yogurt containers and smeared silicone...

A thread for people happy with their Leaf

Loving my 2019 Leaf S! The 40Kwh battery still has 150 miles of range after 18K miles. The car meets all of my needs. I just received a suggestion from the local Nissan dealer that I bring the car in to replace the brake fluid and have the tires rotated. Is it really necessary to replace the...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

My 2019 Leaf (40kWh battery, 17000 miles on the odometer) has 150 miles of range per the GOM At 100% SOC (not my usual SOC!). Leaf shows 4.7 miles/kWh, but that’s averaged over the last 4 years, which might explain some of the difference from the GOM's estimate.

Evaluations of Ariya appreciated from owners who also have had Leafs.

Until the Ariya gets one pedal driving, I won’t consider it as a potential replacement for my Leaf.

    Dealer Bricked my Leaf?

Not long after I took possession of my new 2019 Leaf, the 12V battery died. I called AAA, and their mechanic came out and attached a small battery to the 12V battery’s terminals and the car powered up. The dealer replaced the 12V battery under warrant. After reading about the problems with the...

How to limit charging to 80%

You are right. I should have said that the EVSE charges at the rate of 18% per hour. I have edited my post to correct that.

How to limit charging to 80%

I charge my 2019 leaf consistently at the same EVSE. That EVSE is level 2 and charges at about 18kW per hour. I determine how many hours of charging I need to reach 80% at that charging rate and set the car's charge timer accordingly. For example, if my battery is at 62% SOC, charging for 1...

Independent Leaf mechanic in Los Angeles

Thanks for the advice, but at my age (77), arthritis makes it difficult to get under my Leaf. I'm looking for a mechanic who will do the easy stuff, like change brake fluid, check brake lining, and change reduction gear oil. Also, I understand the battery should be checked once a year.

Independent Leaf mechanic in Los Angeles

The closest Nissan dealer is too far away and I'm fed up with their service. Are there any independent shops in Los Angeles that will maintain a Leaf?
