Have a 2018 Leaf SV, use a 50 amp Chargepoint home unit. Occasionally, I will hear the connectors make a soft thump and the blue lights do not illuminate. A second or third try results in a “hard thump” and the charging process initiates. Is this normal?

This morning I noticed a faint clicking sound emanating from an area near the top of the left passenger door. Car unplugged, off, sitting in garage. Any guesses? What relays are located in this part of the car?

Bought 2018 Leaf with 20K; my wife was exiting the car and a black OBD2 “plug-in” fell on the floor. No markings on case, internally has circuit board with 134221-3030 rev e1a1/a1 on it. Some type of Leaf aftermarket monitor? Car was lease return, could it be gps tracker?
