    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Is that deformation on the sides the result of swelling of the cells? What sort of battery issue were you having? Degradation? Isolation?

I'm not sure what the lemon law guidelines are either, but I'm in Florida as well. I asked nicely for "anything else they can do", and the usage charge was removed entirely.

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

I had my Morley turn-in today. Was in and out in 20 minutes, no issues with the inspection. Very pleased with the result, we drove the car for free for two years. Originally I would have wanted a new 40 kWh battery, but since then our situation has changed where a better vehicle with longer...

Leaking master Brake Cylinder Replacement / Transplant

Personally, I doubt the reason your master cylinder is leaking is related to not flushing it. Some of them do leak, as has been reported here. Had to have ours replaced on our 2017 last year. I can't comment on if they can be separated, but that would be a good solution. I do know that the...

Is the CCS to CHADEMO adapter legitimate?

There was a link posted yesterday in another thread here (I can't find it now) that had the CCS-1 version. Appeared to be from the same manufacturer, only for CCS-1. Still pretty early in all this, but Dala's endorsement is huge. With as fickle and unreliable as DC fast charging can be, I...

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

If Nissan is really refusing that as a valid bill of sale, you have the previous owner's contact info, contact them and ask if they're willing to sign a new bill of sale. Ask nicely and be clear-- there's nothing wrong with the car that you're asking them to fix. (A lot of times buyers will come...

Should I try to hasten battery degradation?

Thank you @TobyHolland this is very interesting, and seems like new information not widely known. Interesting how they aggregate the data in percentile terms. A few "hot charges" may be low in percentile terms but over a long vehicle history may look like a small contribution. I wonder how...

Should I try to hasten battery degradation?

Yes, I am aware that there are more advanced scan tools that can pull more data than others, but that data must exist and be logged by the car to be retrieved. I'm suggesting that this is the first insinuation I've seen that historical data of pack temperature, SOC %, etc. are potentially being...

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

For a weak cell that throws a code, it should be a cell (or module) replacement. For degradation down to 8 bars or less, it's a pack replacement or buyback. The degradation should be (somewhat) uniform across all cells, and the cells have to be pretty well-matched. They seem to be saving the...

Should I try to hasten battery degradation?

Can you elaborate on this please? If so, this is the first I've heard of being able to get historical information from the pack or from the car. Where is that information stored? I have seen that sort of info using Leafspy, but it is Leafspy retrieving instantaneous values and storing the info...

Sounds like you got a value you could live with, any details? Miles, how close to your original purchase price, amount? Any success with negotiation?

Nissan Leaf Wiper Blades: Part Numbers and Compilation from Forum

The tip is that you're looking for 10mm width on the cross-section for the wiper refill. This is getting harder to find, as search engines on e-commerce sites will give you results for 10 inches long and all sorts of other results. If you can get them in either silicone or SPSN-treated rubber...

Air Conditioning system will explode in the air compressor if not recharged with freon and take out the heating system at the same time

It's a big job to replace the entire A/C system, mostly because of the labor to replace the evaporator coil, buried deep behind the dash. You have to remove everything all the way to the firewall. You don't have to have it done at the dealer, a good independent mechanic or A/C shop can do it...

    Bargains on 2023 Leafs

I would cross-shop the Bolt if the size works for you. It's a little narrower (passengers sit closer together) and trunk/hatch is smaller, but otherwise the same as Leaf. There are lots of good deals on used Bolts right now, and will provide longer range and longer longevity. A troublesome...

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Not yet, just sent back all the requested docs yesterday. My rep's email signature has a bunch of out-of-office dates and an indicator that the last day to process agreements before the holidays is 12/13, otherwise it'll be next year. Timing doesn't matter as much to me if the number is good.

Yes, NIssan Consumer Affairs, 800-NISSAN1. To clarify, it wasn't so much as getting transferred around on the same call, but I got called back by a few different people who were referring my case on to get to the right place. The original agent taking my call didn't know anything about Leafs or...

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

No need to wait 2 weeks. My dealer appointment was on 11/29, I called in the next day asking for "more information about battery ETA". Had a few transfers and "someone from the battery expedite department will call you back on Tuesday". Got the call from arbitration today, 12/7.

Have you gone in to the dealer to open the case with Nissan? That at least starts the process and gets you a case number starting with J###. You may also want to follow up separately with Nissan customer service, they'll open a separate case presumably linked to the J#### and your VIN.

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Thank you for sharing your story. I came very close to buying one of those "golden ticket" cars (or at least what we thought to be the case). If you care to share, did you get the $11k, the $9k, or something in between?

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

I'd suggest we return to the subject of this thread -- everyone's buyback or battery warranty replacement data points. I'm hoping to have my own data point soon, 8-bar appointment at the dealer on Wednesday.
