Direct DC Charging with Solar Panel

If you check the preview of this document, it looks like they are talking about the ordinary type 1 connector, since they clearly are referring to 5 pins total.

Direct DC Charging with Solar Panel

According to Wikipedia, the J1772 protocol supports DC charging, even without the combo DC connector. It seems to go all the way down to 50V DC input, according to the standard. There's also official SAE papers on the matter.

Video: EVSE with grid monitoring vs 2000W water kettle. Will it prevent trip breakers?

What I do not understand with these dynamic current EVSEs is HOW they communicate their real-time maximum current over to the car. Since the charger is actually in the car, it seems like there is a constant data link between the car and the EVSE, and the EVSE is periodically reporting the max...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

I had great luck with this adapter. The images / description is messed up as usual on these listings, however my unit is a WiFi one, connects just fine with iOS and Leaf Spy doesn't complain about it:

Just lost first bar. 34k km, OCT 2013 model, spent most of its life in France and the Netherlands, been 6 months since it’s moved in Greece. Guess didn’t stand the heat! It’s been a month since I charged to 100%, only do 80% for less degradation, any chance this could be a BMS mis-calculation...

Nissan LEAF Light Bulb Mods: LEDs Anyone?

I would advise against swapping your fog lights bulbs with LEDs. For lights are engineered so as the beam focuses very low; if you put LEDs in there, the focal point will change and you’ll most probably get a random spotlight result.

Near Turtle to cells balanced: 20.8 kW with 2015 Leaf with 24 kW battery: Low kW? As expected? Battery losing capacity?

Hello. I just registered in the forum because three days ago I got myself a used Leaf, 2013 model, 12-bars, 32k km on the odometer. This is one of the less-than-ten Leafs in Greece. Upon getting the vehicle from a private seller, I took it to Nissan for an all-around check, which resulted in an...
