I am turning my Leaf in a few months early (before the lease ends). I bought a 2014 Chevy Volt. Overall, I like the Volt better. For my commute of 61 miles rt, the Leaf was becoming a tad worrisome on the range. I love the Leaf, I just love the Volt a bit more. :)

While I prefer free over pay.....I have no problem paying $1/hr for a charger if I NEED one. The convenience outweighs the payment, especially since it's a very RARE occurrence then I charge outside of my home. I'm just curious....for all those complaining about the Blink fee: do you have AAA...

I quit figuring my mi/kWh long ago, sorry!! :) I no longer look at the wall-to-wheel numbers or anything....I charge to 100%, I know the range/my driving habits. I drive the car. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. :)

I'd guess about 10-15% reduction. I stopped keeping paper records of distance/charging/etc. after the first couple months. As for software updates, I had the first one done (that changed the way the battery bars report) but did not have the second one done yet.

It varies. It's usually charged to 100% by 4-5am. 2-3 days a week, I get in and drive it between 5-6am, so it doesn't sit long at all at 100%. 2-3 days a week it doesn't get driven until 11am-ish. And on my weekends, it sometimes doesn't get driven until noon-3pm, and USUALLY my weekend driving...

I work near Miramar, and it gets pretty hot there during the day sometimes. Although the car never sat in that heat at 100% charge. Usually near 50% by the time I get to work. Plus, over 26K miles....that's a fair amount.

I saw that the other day. My FIRST thought was "Nice...show someone idly standing around (looking COMPLETELY bored) while their Leaf charges!" While it was nice to see the Leaf in the spot, making it look like you'll have zero productivity while charging is another. I dunno, maybe I'm too...

All you're doing is adding to those Google searches with this thread. Being "all over the internet already" has never been a factual basis for anything. If 15% loss were 'normal', then why is it so few people are effected by it? I'm not dismissing Nissan's obligation here, but merely pointing...

Only a slight decrease. I look at gas prices like taxes....it's a somewhat 'hidden' cost. If you denied withholding ANYTHING for taxes and suddenly got an IRS bill for $10,000, you'd explode! Same thing for gas.....but if you trickle the bill in small increments over time, it's less noticeable...

I disagree completely: It depends on each persons' situation. I drive over 15,000 miles per year. At 30mpg = 500 gallons of gas. At $4/gal, there's $2k per year (that's 10% of the cost of the $20K vehicle PER YEAR (and not likely to decrease, either!)) If the average lifespan of a vehicle is 8...
