    VCM recall for 22' SV+?

I had the R23A6 (aka NHTSA 23V-494) done today. I went into the dealership with 216 miles of range and came out with 280. I've had quite a few charges that resulted in 272 miles but never more than that. I was hopeful, but the range seemed to go down faster than normal. The recall was...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

Fluid color is no longer the sole gauge of the status of ATF. Ford came out with a bulletin that dealer service should not judge the ATF by color alone because it does change color long before it has reached its end of life. That was for Mercon LV I believe. I also recall reading a spec about...

    EVSE Charger lights flashing

I took my Leaf into the dealership today. I talked with the EV technician directly. He checked for codes on the car. There were none. He then had me charge with their level II pedestal. No problems. He cannot test my EVSE because the dealership doesn't have a 220 volt 50 amp outlet. Hard...

EVSE Fault all 3 lights flashing

Did you resolve this? My 2019 has been charging at home on a 14-50 outlet/circuit just fine. Today I happened to be in the garage while charging and noticed that all three lights on the OEM EVSE are flashing. The car is still charging, though at a reduced rate.

Failed To Charge At Nissan Dealership

Good thought. It looks like I'm not the only one that failed to charge. One Leaf owner managed to charge on the CHAdeMO with a credit card this month. Prior posts indicate that the credit card didn't work, which is what I think I was dealing with. It never prompted for a payment. Larry...

Failed To Charge At Nissan Dealership

A couple months ago I tried to charge my 2019 Leaf SV+ at a Nissan dealership where charging has worked before. Both the CHAdeMO and level 2 stations connected but wouldn't initiate a charge. It's like the car wouldn't take a charge. The station seemed to recognize that the car was connected...

How to survive cold weather in your Leaf when stuck

Another factor that I don't think has been mentioned is that an ICE engine would need time to warm up to produce hot cabin air. My Leaf gets hot cabin air within ~30 seconds. Also, an engine at idle may not produce much heat at all. My diesel truck takes a long time to warm up, but once warm...

Thanks for the link. I did search before posting, but I looked in the wrong subforum.

How to survive cold weather in your Leaf when stuck

A friend of mine suggested that the recent debacle on I-95 in Virginia would be even worse if all the vehicles were EV. So that got me to thinking, how long would my heater run with the vehicle in Park? I have a 2019 Plus and get between 230 and 270 miles of range from a solid charge. Since...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

I'm not surprised at that color. None of the fluid changes in my transfer cases over the years have produced nice, clean looking ATF like you see in the transmission.

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

Thanks! I used to buy a bunch of AMSOil products so I should have known to look for the Signature Series stuff. This prompted me to look at what my inventory really is. Unfortunately, I don't have the fuel efficient product, just the regular multi-vehicle ATF and not Signature Series. I now...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

Thank you for posting this summary. I have a case of the AMSOil Fuel Efficient ATF that was left over from my Titan. I plan to use that in the Leaf. I was surprised to see the viscosity number for it was higher than Matic S, so I checked on it. According to the PDF link below (top of page2)...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

I'm not sure. They just called it Valvoline ATF, so I would assume it's the regular. But the dealership treated as an equivalent to Matic S. Doesn't mean it is equivalent, just that they treated it that way.

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

My local Nissan puts in the Valvoline ATF if you don't explicitly request the Nissan Matic S fluid. At least that's what they were doing for my Titan before I asked which specific fluid was going into its transmission.

Please Report 2018 - 2020 Leaf Defects Here

Any chance you could pinpoint the bushing in a picture? My service dealer refused to fix anything, saying that the other models on the lot make the same sound, which is a chickensh!t excuse.

2018 Leaf Gen 2 Winter Tires size

Correct. The replacement sensors I used are dual frequency.

2018 Leaf Gen 2 Winter Tires size

I had aftermarket winter tires/wheels/sensors on my 2015 Leaf. As I recall, these were the same size as OEM. I use the same set on my 2019, but had to upgrade the sensors to the new frequency.

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

All my reports from Blackstone were custom. The one where I forgot to change the oil on time was kind of funny. It started with, "You went too far."

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

Considering that many manufacturers are setting the oil change interval on transmissions to more than 100,000 miles, the oil that Nissan put in the gearbox doesn't seem to be high quality. Medium quality at best. I understand this isn't a transmission that has a cooler and filter. But even...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

When I had my Titan, I used Blackstone. They kept increasing my interval, until I went too far one time (my fault). Otherwise, nothing interesting. I haven't tested any of the oil coming out of my F-350.
