    Most bars lost?

I do now. Thanks! I was really excited at first, but as I looked into it, it looks like those will be about 80% capacity packs. I made a comment over there, but my math says the cost per year should be about the same for my use and I may as well enjoy the higher capacity of a new pack for a...

Nissan to Start Sale of LEAF Battery Refurbs in Japan

I found the below article on Reuters and pulled out some of the highlights. It sure looks like these will be re bundled cells with about 80% of new capacity. In my situation, it took me 3 years to get to 51Ahr (80%) and almost another 4 years to get to where I am now. So I can pay $2800 for...

    Most bars lost?

    I lost my 7th bar this weekend. I suspect that by the end of summer, I'll have to replace the pack. Bar 7 - March 25, 2018 -FairwoodRed - Seattle, WA - 125,229 - 81 Months - 06/11 - 2011 - 01876

    Enphase field MTBF: M190: ~36 Years M215: ~316 Years M250: >357 Years

This probably isn’t your case, but I routinely lose communication between my Envoy and my microinverters. After a while, I determined that it was because I had a treadmill on the same branch circuit as the Envoy. Everytime I’d turn it on (even not in active use), I’d lose comms. Which just...

Any other 6 year owners out there?

I’ve still got my 2011 here in Seattle and I still drive for 90% of my daily driving. I’ve lost 5 bars and can go about 35 miles per charge. At 112k miles, I’ve now driven it as far as I had hoped to get the pack to last. I’m very much in a wait and see mode to determine how much more I can...

Washington State Penalizes Thrifty LEAF Buyers

Did you discuss with them the EV Sales tax exemption and if it also applies to Use tax? Certainly the Use tax applies to run of the mill cars that also have to pay a Sales tax. You might have to specifically ask about the tax exemption to get them to look at it. The link below sure seems to...

    Most bars lost?

I don't think I have dates and miles on the bar losses. I have LeafSpy logs, but I don't know if I can extract bar losses from those. I did graph my capacity versus time and it looks remarkably consistent. I didn't see any real change in the capacity loss slope except for seasonal changes.

    Most bars lost?

So today I finally lost my 5th bar and it started to make me wonder what is the most bars that anyone has lost? 6? 7? And will rate of loss change as the pack deteriorates? I tried searching the forum, but with no real success. I know there was a capacity loss spreadsheet, but I haven't...

    RegGuheert, Are you still tracking my Enphase system? I had a D380 failure in April. https://enlighten.enphaseenergy.com/pv/public_systems/EPbL26487" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    Most Miles on Still-Operating Leaf?

I have 74K on mine and still going strong. My capacity is currently at 76%. Last January, my commute changed from 53 miles with no charging to 40 miles with workplace charging and my degradation seems to have slowed down. I don't have any current plans to stop driving, but I am trying to set...

    Grabby Brakes?

I've noticed that my grabby brakes are when I've been feathering the brake pedal. If I let off fully and then right back on, I can get smooth braking again.

How To: Splice-less Always On Power Outlet

If I were designing heated seat circuits, I’d have the relay control switched, but the seat heater element power always on. This reduces the size of the relay needed for all the switched. Besides, seat heaters need their own relay anyway, so why put them thru the general switched power relay?

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

240 is the standard for voltage here (unless you’re on 3 phase commercial and then it’s 208) and 50 amp breakers can be had for less than a movie. link here Again, I want to thank Nissan for announcing a replacement pack price. It has definitely put my mind at ease knowing that option is now...

2011 Leaf - Numbers don't add up as far as range

I don’t think you have any problems with your driving. I’ve personally driver 120 miles on one charge. I had to really work it to get there and my efficiency was about a 7. You really have to slow down and have a light foot to go that far. Regarding your battery capacity, you almost...

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

I've only read the first post so far, but THANKS NISSAN!!! This is an acceptable solution. It's not everything I could have hoped for, but it is workable. I would have liked the option to keep my old battery for personal use, but I understand the need for a way to keep packs available for...

Nissan to announce official Battery Replacement Program soon

I'm still bitter about Andy Palmer's "Spring means Spring in my language" quote last year. Given that this is a social media guy saying it this time, I'd be surprised if they had anything of note to say before 2015.

    running on fumes (range anxiety)

Nissan changes to --- when really low exactly because it’s when people count on it the most and when Nissan is most unsure of it. They have a reasonable estimate of what is left, but at very low charge, it become increasingly difficult to get it right. They for sure do not want you counting on...

    The 12V battery charging algorithms

Chargepoint is already going down that path. They now have the CT4000 http://www.chargepoint.com/files/CT4000-Data-Sheet.pdf that has two J1772's on one charger. If only one is is use, it has 6.6kw available. If both are connected, each one is limited to 3.3kw. It wouldn't be too much more...

Blink "Please plug in your vehicle"

That seems reasonable. I also am thinking about performing a continuity test on each of the conductors (don't worry - i'll unplug it first). One other idea is that I'll unplug Hal and see if that's related. I doubt it, but it won't be hard to try. As a last resort, I may ask Blink how much...
