    Spare Tire Mod

The stock steel wheel from an 'S' trim model, which is the only one that has these I believe.

    Spare Tire Mod

I believe the only steel rims appropriate for a LEAF would be a stock rim from an 'S' trim leaf or a 2006 - 2011 Altima, my son and I rescued one from a 2006 in a local salvage yard in Olympia, WA for $25 and a new looking jack with handle for $12 from the same car.

Rusting bolt on front suspension strut - potential safety issue

They were actually dropped after the 2013 model year, neither my 2014 S nor my 2016 SL had them. I purchased the old Nissan part myself and installed them after cleaning the bolts and spraying them down with some protectant.

Email from Nissan regarding GOM software update

I just got this email this morning as well, didn't know my GOM was a problem?

Missing Towing Eye / Found Towing Eye

Exactly! The part was there prior to 2013 but was deleted. I didn't want to be without it, so I bought them for my 2016 and 2014 (kids car), the one I linked to on eBay fits perfectly and was like 1/2 the price of the dealer part. I got myself a spare too, and a jack... :D

Post your questions about the '18 LEAF 2 reveal here

It just won't be economical to do so, and speaking as a 30 year mechanic, the average idiot would set themselves on fire, or worse, someone else. You 'could' drop an LT series V8 in a Chrysler 300, but people don't because it'd cost s fortune and it's cheaper to just get a good car.

Post your questions about the '18 LEAF 2 reveal here

Sorry, no. The connections are different, the firmware is different, the charger is different. Batteries stay with the generation of the car, Gen I, Gen II. Lizard batteries were different, but that's different.

Post your questions about the '18 LEAF 2 reveal here

Watched the reveal live from Japan yesterday of the '18 LEAF. I'm stunned at the amount of whining and crying from US LEAF owners (and others) about what they didn't get yesterday. Who exactly took away your birthday?: I've heard ALL this bitching because you didn't get: - Liquid battery...

2016+ Windshield Replacement - No Aftermarket / Recycled Glass / New Rear View Mirror

Precisely. I like my $1200, real Nissan part windshield just fine thank you. If other folks are happy with a $300 aftermarket unit of dubious quality they can have a windshield full of bubbles and defects. Are they all that way? Of course not, but i got what i paid for and have a sterling...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

I should like to point out that in January / February just after I took delivery of my '16 back in December (Happy Birthday to me!), my SOH% dropped to as low as 91% over a couple of months, I thought the whole thing was headed south, built a spreadsheet, got upset, etc. I was only commuting 2...

2016+ Windshield Replacement - No Aftermarket / Recycled Glass / New Rear View Mirror

=Troll. I'm sure the Safelite kid on the truck really didn't care. Gotta tell ya, my windshield is an obvious quality improvement than the Aftermarket POS that's full of bubbles in the laminate that that a recent poster mentioned. Like I said, if you're happy with low budget, duct-tape...

    2017 A/C not working

Agreed, i drive in ECO mode all the time too and blast the cold in the summer @ 64 degrees, works great.

    Did you get this resolved?

EV system warning light while driving; won't restart

Ditto. Fairly certain with the age of the vehicle and the miles you just need a new 12v battery. All kinds of things won't work right when the car exprects 12v and gets 9.

    Bubbles in windshield?

Bingo. Another reason to demand OEM glass.

    Flat Tires

I can tell they'll be short lived i'm afraid. i run them at higher pressure as well but the tread is thin and hard. Low rolling resistance. meh.

    New Floormats Weathertech vs. ?

Fall is coming to Seattle ( I hope ), does anyone have a decent alternative to Weathertech for floormats? I saw a post somewhere, maybe on Facebook about mats from the dealer being a good value and built well, but I wanted to see what aftermarket stuff is available out there that people have...

2016+ Windshield Replacement - No Aftermarket / Recycled Glass / New Rear View Mirror

My new unit is a thing to behold, definitely worth the wait. The previous poster mentioned that some aftermarket units have optical imperfections which show quite a bit because of the rake of the windshield, but this thing is perfectly clear. Now to avoid bouncing rocks on the freeway. No...

2016+ Windshield Replacement - No Aftermarket / Recycled Glass / New Rear View Mirror

My glass showed up yesterday with a straight up 'Nissan' logo, my old windshield said 'Nissan / Pilkington', so I can tell the glass came straight from the dealer with dealer part sticker right on it. $1200 part that took 7 weeks to get. I can also say that the Nissan requirement to replace...

2016+ Windshield Replacement - No Aftermarket / Recycled Glass / New Rear View Mirror

...and as of yesterday I have a new windshield and a new rear view mirror. The kid from Safelite was a little baffled by the mirror requirement but they did it without argument because it's what Nissan asked for AND he 100% backed me up on OEM vs. Aftermarket Glass, even going so far as to show...
