    Latest lease deals in Georgia

All good points, Sublime. I went for 3-years because I have 2 teenagers and needed to add a 3rd car to the household. Adding a Leaf was a no-brainer for us. The 3-year lease gets me past at least one graduation. If I get some sort of incentive as you mention to extend for a year, that would...

    Latest lease deals in Georgia

Are you "VPP"? And, which trim level are you seeking? I You have to consider the whole lease package. I picked up my Leaf at the end of April, and was able to secure a 36-month lease at $240/month, with $500 at signing, and a residual of just over $12K. This was non-VPP program, for an "S"...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

I'm a newbie, but from my recent install.... I picked up a very good condition 32amp Eaton unit on craigslist for $350. I put a plug on it and installed the 220V outlet myself for approximately $100 in materials (bulk of that was 8 awg wire for a 35' run), receptacle, plug, and 40 amp breaker...

    Latest lease deals in Georgia

What is the residual value for this deal? Also, which dealership in Atlanta gave you these numbers? I just recently leased a Leaf S in Atlanta, but cannot evaluate your deal versus what I got w/o knowing the residual. If you don't know the residual, just call the salesman back tomorrow and...

HELP.. Georgia Tax Increases imposed on electric vehicles

This was discussed in today's Atlanta Journal Constitution, buried toward the end of an article about the bill as a whole. These items were included in a much larger transportation bill. There are pros/cons to the tax incentives provided, which I don't intend to debate. For one, Georgia wants...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

My electrician came by this morning to inspect my panel. Good news....to add a 40 amp breaker to my sub-panel for this EVSE will not require a service upgrade (I have 150amp service). Bad news....he wanted to about $450 to install the receptacle for me, using my wire and receptacle....too much...

HELP.. Georgia Tax Increases imposed on electric vehicles

I'm in GA. Wasn't aware of the $200 annual fee hike until you just pointed it out. Can you send me a link to Rep. Martin's ludicrous comment about it? I think you should share that with everyone on this forum and anyone else that will listen. I will do the same. We are saving too much money...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

I picked up the used Eaton unit today. It's a 1-year old unit, but was only used for a few months out of that year. The seller had moved and never reinstalled it. It appears to be in good shape and I felt like $350 was a good price. I intend to put a plug on the unit and install a receptacle...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

Quick question: There are 2 EVSE's for sale on my local Craigslist. 1. GE Wattstation 30A/7.2kW - $500 asking 2. Eaton L230 30A/7.2kW - $400 asking, said he'd accept $350 The GE is a wall mount, plug-in unit. I offered $350, but haven't heard back. The Eaton is a hardwire unit. Any...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

Yes, baustin, I might try to sort that out this weekend. Thrasher Electric here only charges $29 to come inspect the panel, so I figure it's worth someone having a look before I get into it. I just came across this Level 2 charger from GE at Home Depot (model EVDSWGH-CP01). $449 for a 7.2kW...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

Thanks for all of the good advice. In taking another look at my panel and sub-panel, I've decided to have an electrician come out and inspect, before I decide what size EVSE to install. I know the sum of the amperage of the breakers is not representative of the load, but I have 150 amp service...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

Thank you for the good advice. I have confirmed that the unused, 30 amp breaker is 240V....but, the previous homeowner installed it with 12AWG wire, which is insufficient for 30 amps. So, I'll be swapping that out for 10AWG for this install. I will be the one installing the outlet or junction...

Took the plunge, bought a 2014 Leaf, now need a L2 EVSE...

Complete newbie here. Just picked up my 2015 Leaf S this past weekend. Loving the vehicle so far. I, too, am seeking advice on the L2 EVSE. I had narrowed my choices to either the EVSE Upgrade ($287) (16A/3.8kW), or the ClipperCreek LCS-25 ($469 hardwired/$485 w/plug) (20A/4.8kW). The...
