    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Got my car back. No surprises here, they say the battery is JUST FINE!!! Completely within spec, they say. They won't replace it until 4 bars are lost or it throws a code. Just... incredible. I am absolutely dumbfounded. I will be continuing to document my battery readings here for everyone to...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Couldn't agree more. From everything I'm reading on here anyone that got a battery from factory in late 2015 on their 2016 MY has pretty severe degradation. I guess I got one of the worst considering it's only got 6500 miles and already lost a bar. Hoping that Nissan fesses up and replaces my...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

My commute alone is 20 miles round trip, but I work in IT and travel to client sites pretty regularly. It's not unusual for me to have a 100 mile day and do a couple charges in the same day. I seldom have a less than 30 mile day, so usually charging every other day from about 30% up to full. I...

They are keeping my car overnight and I'm getting a rental. Will update tomorrow when I know more.

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

My car resides in Monterey and I work in Monterey, a VERY mild climate. Our yearly high is in the low 80s and we seldom see temperatures below freezing even in our coldest winters. I average 4.2mi/kwh. Happy to get a picture of that at some point. This is my second Leaf, after I had a 2011 SL...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

I've been gone for a while from the forums, but just came back on because today I lost the first bar on my 2016 SL!! At 6,477 miles and 6 months in service!!! I've read through all the posts since I was last on here and really sorry to hear what @johnlocke has been going through. I hope my...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Looks like you're in a similar boat to me. only 354 miles on the odo and you're already down to 92% SOH. Please keep us posted as you do more charging, especially if you do some QC. As a side note to the rest of the thread, I heard back from Nissan Support today and they will NOT be sending...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

I was able to run the new LeafSpy today on my car. Car manufactured 10/15 per door jam. Here's a screenshot of the ECU readout showing the serial number of my battery pack plus a lot of other information: One really interesting thing occurred with this new LeafSpy version. Previously all...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

So I finally heard back from the dealer. They conducted over a week of testing and have concluded that my brand new 2016 SL is functioning fine. They say there's nothing wrong with the battery because they were able to run it down to 106 miles at Turtle. I'm pretty annoyed. I paid for a new...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Mine is an early production model as well, and I can't help but wonder if there are other early production ones with the same problems that belong to people who don't know about this forum or LeafSpy. Nissan must know they had a bad initial run of 30kwh packs. If they're sticking these packs...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

The dealership has actually been pretty good about that so far, but we'll see what Nissan has to say now that they're involved. When I showed the service manager at the dealership the readings from my car compared to the readings of other cars on their lot he was pretty shocked. Hopefully he'll...

New Leaf 2016 SL, Bad Battery?

I'm just getting started with the process you're going through. Nissan clearly has some bad batteries from the initial run of 30kwh packs. I don't know why they don't want to make this right. If this was an ICE car with a manufacturing defect they would get it fixed ASAP, but Leaf's don't get...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I was really hoping it would drop before I turned it in for the testing, so there would be no question about the state of health on the battery, but now I'm thinking how much of a statement it would be for the bar to drop during their testing. Fingers...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Just dropped my Leaf off at the dealership. I was given a Versa SV sedan as a loaner while they do their testing. Was told it would be about a week. Did a quick LeafSpy reading when I dropped it off: 67.39 AHr 84% SOH 82.33% Hx 1,542 miles As soon as I hear back from them I will post here.

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

UPDATE: I have heard from the dealership and they want me to bring the car in on Monday and drop it off for the week so they can do some "extended testing" on it. I am not sure what that means, and they didn't give me much info, but at least they're going to do something. They will be giving me...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

That's fantastic. Can you post your GIDs, AHr, SOH% and Hx% once you've completed the charge and let the cells balance?

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

I've never seen more than 111miles on the GOM, and that was after a QC followed by L2 to balance the cells. Typically 103-107 on the GOM after a full L2 charge. It eventually evens out to 1mile=1% on the dash SOC reading, but then at the bottom end for LBW and VLBW I can only squeeze out about 5...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

Chances are high I would qualify for a new battery under warranty, but as there is so little info right now on the 30kwh batteries we don't know how the capacity bars drop based on the LeafSpy readings. For example, if my car is really already at SOH%=85, I would expect the first bar to fall off...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

I'm very interested to hear what they tell you. Losing 10% SOH in 10 months is ridiculous. You have 15,000 more miles on the clock than I do, and still getting 13 more GIDs on a full charge than I do. What range is your GOM telling you after a full charge? Mine says about 107 miles. Real world...

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

No cells were marked as weak in LeafSpy, and generally after a full charge my variance is about 13mV, so it seems like the pack is getting well balanced. It's just that battery isn't holding the capacity it should for a brand new car. I'm basically paying for a 30kwh car and getting a 24kwh car.
