    any advice on tire replacement?

The Cooper tires I got are the Adventurer Tour ones from Pep Boys that I got for $600 OTD including road hazard. They have a 70K mile warranty or maybe it was 75K. So far they are just as quiet as the factory Michelins. I'm not 100% certain yet, haven't been able to do any kind of apples to...

    any advice on tire replacement?

I put the Cooper Adventurers on my Leaf on Friday and so far they seam to run fine, I spent some time on the highway this weekend with the radio off and they sound about the same as the OEM Michelins, they don't sound any louder to me.

    any advice on tire replacement?

Yeah, I'm not concerned about the electricity cost as much as the range of the car. Sometimes I take it on road trips but I'm not concerned if the difference is negligible, just want to make sure it's not going be a drastic decrease like 5% or more. There seem to be a lot of people saying the...

    any advice on tire replacement?

I'm in need of some tires too, I need to replace the factory Michelins on my 2019 SL+ (215/50R17). It sounds like the ecopias are the best choice but these tires are really expensive, best I can seem to do is nearly $900. Anyone have experience with the Cooper Adventurer? I can get those for...

    Positive 12V source under dash

Hey James, thanks for the picture. I went back and pulled on the bottom of the whole hvac module and it popped out pretty easily. That gets me to the back of the 12V port which will work fine. Brian

    Positive 12V source under dash

Agreed, I'm definitely going to try that approach first with popping off the receptacle, thanks!

    Positive 12V source under dash

Yep, definitely looking for a more permanent solution. I appreciate all the tips, I'll try pulling the whole thing out again and see if it budges. I'll also take a look at the fuse panel you mentioned and possibly tap in there if it's easier. Thanks!

    Positive 12V source under dash

Are you talking about a newer leaf like a 2019? I tried pulling on the HVAC and also tried getting a flat head behind it and prying but it wouldn't budge. Are the hook clips on the top or bottom? I was trying to pull the shiny black bezel and tried prying behind it, assume that's what you meant?

shocks to go with H&R springs

I'm also curious about suspension upgrades for better handling. I own a 2019 SL Plus, has anyone added stiffer springs, better shocks, or otherwise improved the handling on a new gen Leaf? It seems to me this Leaf understeers but I'm not an expert driver.

    Positive 12V source under dash

Ok, thanks. I had thought about the 12V port but assumed it would be a PITA to get to it. I'll try popping the HVAC panel and see what I can do. Brian

    Positive 12V source under dash

Hi, does anyone happen to know where is a good place to find / tap into a 12V supply under the dash that is also switched on/off with the ignition? I'm looking to power a low current draw circuit, won't draw any more than about 100ma. Thanks, Brian

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

That's what I figured as well and I'll have to see what happens with future chargers. What made me key in on this was that the EVgo charger started to taper off when my car was only at 50% and by the time it reached 60% it was only charging at 22 kW. The other charger I mentioned stayed at 30 kW...

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

I'm well aware of the difference, I'm an electrical engineer. You got me on the notation though, kW is more correct than KW but I think you know what I meant. So, my 62 kWh battery was being charged at a 44 kW rate at the beginning and tapered off to 28 kW at the end, we cool? ;) Seriously...

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

Wow, that's impressive! The Electrify America charger I tried was brand new, it just opened a week or two ago. Unfortunately, it is only a 50KW charger.

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

I've tried a couple more quick chargers and it looks like the EVgo one I mentioned earlier just tapered off on it's own. I used a free quick charger that supplied 30KW and it charged my Leaf at a fairly consistent 30KW all the way from 25% to 90%. I also used an Electrify America charger that...

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

It definitely makes sense that the charge would taper off some as the battery fills up, just was surprised to see it go from 35KW down to 20KW after only 50%. That's good info to know on your Leaf Plus experience, I'm glad to hear it is the charger and not my car. This was a business trip, so...

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

Fair enough, I'm not sure whether it is the Leaf or the EVgo charger that started dialing back the charge rate when the battery was only half full. When you look at Nissan's website, they seem to indicate you could get about 80% charge in about an hour but I don't see that being realistic if I...

Department of Energy - Chademo vs. CCS

I just bought a new Leaf Plus and am not impressed with CHAdeMO. I used an EVgo charger and my car was at 20%. You're limited to a 45 minute session and after that it turned off and my battery was only at 60%. From 20% - 50% it charged at 350V / 100A or 35KW. After 50% it started trickling down...
