Re: Charging adapters

This is a couple of the "dogbone" adapters I've used to convert various plugs to a 14-50r(outlet). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MHVNANO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 currently $19.05 shipped. It looks like this one that I've also ordered has been discont...

Re: Charging adapters

I'd like to know where you find the best price materials to build them. For the part I use the most, a pigtail with a 14-50r I've found Amazon to be the best. I order the L6-30p to 14-50r adapter that has about a foot of 10 gauge cable between the two ends and cut the L6-30 end off close to the plu...

Re: Charging adapters

Yes I also have a Juicebox, the premium model though and I've made many plug adapters to go to the Juiceboxe's 14-50p. I can go from anything from a standard 15a 120v outlet or a 20a 240 or a 20a 240 locking or a 30a 240 locking and also a franken-y plug that goes from 2 120v outlets to provide me w...

Re: Charging issue, electric panel is full, Load miser or $$$

My 200 amps if fully loaded, (not in # of breakers). I live In Québec, Canada. Here, all heating is electric. I allready have a CT installed on my main, and during cold night off winter, my house can draw as much as 180 amps !!! I want this load miser, it's my best option. Yikes, 180amps! yes I did...

Re: Turning off timer

Timer override turns the timer off for that charging session. 11MY will stop charging at 100% or 80% depending on which was selected. +1, with the timer override button pushed charging won't stop until the battery is fully charged(or 80% if that option is enabled) no matter if you have timers set o...

Re: Charging issue, electric panel is full, Load miser or $$$

But honestly I cannot imagine 200 amp panel is maxed out on power. Turn everything on and I think you would be lucky to see much more than 60 amps unless the house is unusually large. Probably just need a subpanel if the slots are all filled with twin breakers. I agree with this. 200a is already a ...

Re: anyone ever do Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo?

.... I mean, it seems like it could be cheaper than four days of my time and three nights at hotels. Wow, when you put it that way it really sounds terrible :( I mean when I drive cross country with my ICE I like to do 500 miles in just one day, couldn't imagine 4+ days and then as you said, hotels...

Re: Newbie from Minneapolis

Also, if you do the factory EVSE upgrade you will get the benefit of 120V 16 amp charging, which is a third faster then what you're charging at now on 120V. This should help until you get 240V in your garage. That is of course if the OP has a 120 volt, 20 amp circuit in his garage to plug into. And...

Re: Newbie from Minneapolis

I didn't know one could upgrade the EVSE. I can see how that would be incredibly useful. I was going to get a portable L2 but maybe it's better to upgrade the EVSE and have more options in a single portable unit. If you plan on keeping the Leaf for the long run I'd strongly suggest upgrading your f...

Re: Newbie from Minneapolis

Hi everyone, We just bought a 2016 LEAF SV last Friday. We already love it! The range is not as severely impacted by the winter weather as I had been led to expect so that's a nice happy surprise. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions going forward but just wanted to introduce myself. Now I'll go ha...
