Re: Leaf vs Volt - The Final SHOWDOWN!

Yeah, because 0 to 40 in the Leaf is actually quite slow and the data shows that most any non-econobox car can beat it... +1! I haven't lost yet 0-40 and my claim to fame was a new Nissan 'Z'. My reaction times are really good so I'm sure that helps beat everyone too. Maybe it's 0-30MPH and not 40,...

Re: Rear view camera option on SV?

I have a 2013 SV with Around View and Bose stereo, but no mention of "premium package." What else does that include? Also the car I test drove was an SV with rear view camera, not the Around View. Frankly, having tried both camera options, I heartily recommend the Around View, because the ...

Re: Leaf model S with quick charge package - how to quick ch

There may be a bit of good news with the bad, here. If you don't use a full charge before recharging (which isn't really that healthy for the pack, anyway) it will take less than 20 hours to recharge with 120 volts. I tend to use about 50-70% of the pack's capacity, and to get back to 80% from there...

Re: What do the little A and B mean ?

You can switch between them with the "Trip" icon on the four-cornered button to the left and below the steering wheel. Holding Trip down while on one of them will reset it.

The manual is long and dense, but it's a good idea to wade through it, even if only ten pages at a time...

Re: So, owners what range are you getting ?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but with my 2011 and using AC in the summer with an 85F setting, it would start at about 1.5kW, then quickly drop to just a sliver and it would hardly affect my m/kW h or my miles. Now, with the 2013, it starts at about 1.5kW and stays there. I've yet to see...

Re: Outdoor rated Level 2 - 30A EVSE that uses a plug?

I would like to split the usage of a Level 2 - 30A EVSE between an indoor location and an outdoor location (not close to each other). I'd put a mounting bracket in each location and just move the plug-in EVSE as needed. It seems that most EVSEs that are not-hardwired are not outdoor rated. Looking ...

Re: Fog Lights without Headlights??

... As anybody who drives often in the fog knows, headlights make visibility worse, good amber fog lamps low to the ground with no headlights provides the best forward visibility. Unfortunately just about every state in the US requires that the fog lamps only function when the headlights are active...

Re: Anyone into electric cycling?

I ride the E-bike with the best 'enjoyment to cost' ratio: the Currie EZIP Trailz. The 10AH OEM lead-acid pack was adequate for my needs because I want to pedal all the time, but for various reasons I replaced it with a 10lb (the OEM weighs 18lbs) Ping lithium pack with BMS. The bike has been unused...

Re: First time charging: blinking lights on included EVSE?

I recommend you do NOT use a power strip like this. We have had numerous reports of them melting, most are not up to the task of continuous-duty. You do not need to unplug your EVSE when it's not in use. It uses little power in standby, and incorporates internal surge-protection, so it is unlikely ...

Re: Official 2013 smart for two electric drive

We started with a full charge and returned with slightly over forty percent left. Admittedly, we were worried when we were just over thirty-five percent when we reached the top of Mt. Wilson, however we charged on the way down and ended overall gaining a charge! See that flashing red light in your ...
