Re: New Leaf

Welcome to the forum. You have a Leaf "S" trim, which is the budget entry level Leaf. What this means is no heat pump, which may or may not matter in your locale, no remote connectivity for the car, and unless the car has the Fast Charge port, you have a slower onboard charger. 120 volt ch...

Re: End Of Lease Dilemma

I haven't wanted to post about it for fear of jinxing it, but today we closed on the sale of the lot. We used a local realtor who charges a flat $3k for lots like ours, and a lawyer who charges a flat $750 (what a racket!). The lot sold for $21,500, with me getting the price up $750 in last minute n...

The battery looks good. You'd want to take readings at about 15-20% to make sure there are no weak cells, but what shows is fine. You may want to change the way the images are posted, though, as many/most people won't be able to see them.

Re: Is it possible to disable/cheat the TPMS?

There is in fact a super cheap, very effective, one minute hack for this very issue.

Black tape over the warning icon/light.

Responding to what you consider disinformation with information-free sarcasm is not helpful. Rebut if you like, but please don't throw trash.

Re: The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Nissan has in the past generally abided by BBB decisions, IIRC.

Re: 2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

The bars can briefly go back up, especially on the 24kwh and 30kwh packs. The BMS update on the 30kwh just about always brings bars back, sometimes for a few weeks or months, sometimes longer.

Re: 12V battery went "bad" after VCM recall?

Welcome. If you live in a Hot or Cold climate, then four years isn't unusual. It would be a little soon if your climate is mild. I agree that they may have managed to run the battery down during the update, but that may be hard to prove.

Re: Winter range

Welcome. You can expect roughly a 25% drop in range in milder Winter weather, rising to roughly 50% in extreme cold, wind, snow and slush. If it's any consolation, the cars with heat pump do no better in temps below about 20F. Learn to use the heated seat and steering wheel to best effect, if so equ...

Re: Extension cords

Heat buildup usually occurs at the outlet, so having an extension cord plugged into the outlet, with the EVSE plugged into the other end of the cord, moves the temp sensor away from the outlet that it's supposed to be 'watching'. AFAIK, it's a kill-type setup, with the sensor cutting the connection ...
