Re: Tesla Supercharger Network

doubt if its an issue. you know Tesla tracks everything you do. charge at a local station more than a few times a month, expect a problem. Your scenario suggests you will not have a problem. Uber drivers and whatnot will be easy to detect. circling their neighborhood several times a day, several da...

Re: Tesla Supercharger Network

Now if they would just limit supercharging to outside owners geographic area it will make the system useful. Far too many local people have no home charging and charge to 100% sometimes daily clogging up statins. The policy above should have been in place a long time ago and I'm not sure how they i...

Re: Committed LEAF 2018 Buyer: Raise Your Hand

Sagebrush does not seem to understand market dynamics, and that Nissan couldn't care less abut those that have churned out for a more expensive EV (and the magic differentiator number is actually $40K). They are just happy that they were able to give those aspirational EV'ers an entry point into th...

Re: Why We Moved to a Chevy Bolt from a Nissan Leaf

Congratulations to the OP on acquiring a long range EV! Good timing, considering the uncertainty about the federal EV tax credit. Not opting for active thermal management of the battery pack is where Nissan continues to err. The rapid degradation is probably a combination of that and not having a gr...

Re: TSLA corporate outlook

I don't believe we should be encouraging anyone to stretch to afford a luxury vehicle that's simply too expensive for them if things go sour; we had enough of that sort of thing with the mortgage meltdown. Nor do I have any interest in encouraging people to purchase vehicles that they truly cannot ...

Re: TSLA corporate outlook

On the other hand, a family stretching to buy an entry level Model S for $75k will likely be influenced by the tax credit and should, in my opinion, be eligible for it at least until the Model 3 becomes available in large quantities . Well, there's the thing. Anyone who doesn't want to wait for a M...

Re: TSLA corporate outlook

It's high time that max. price limits were put on subsidies, if they aren't eliminated. We could use them here (Washington state has had one for a couple of years now, $35k IIRR), but maybe Congress will just toss subsidies altogether. Taxpayers have no business subsidizing the purchase of luxury g...

Re: Nissan "Out-of-Warranty" support for battery pack degradation

I do have to give the dealer technician credit, though. He is trying to help. He just agreed to open a case with Nissan's tech line. And I reminded the dealer about Nissan getting publicity by taking the LEAF up Pike's Peak. :D

Re: Nissan "Out-of-Warranty" support for battery pack degradation

That reminds me, didn't Nissan run the LEAF in the Pike's Peak Hill Climb?

Re: Nissan "Out-of-Warranty" support for battery pack degradation

Never once have I seen our LEAF limit its available motor power. (EDIT: I take it back - there may have been a couple times where it was missing a circle or two on the available power display due to extreme cold.) Normally, we've driven slowly when climbing the mountain in the LEAF, at a motor power...
