Re: The 62kWh Battery Topic

It's just my opinion or sense that gen 2 SOH adjustments are done to forecast SOH past the warranty date. My SOH recently went up .55%. Which was where I was 6 months ago and keeps my projection well past 14 years for 60%. I find it hard to believe my battery suddenly got better. Time, use, and heat...

Re: 2023 SV plus automatic emergency braking AEB

How close did you get? You have to be REALLY, REALLY CLOSE to trigger the AEB, and most people react themselves before it kicks in. I was never brave enough to test this but up until last week I never found that the Leaf had applied the brakes. I get the warning all the time (which drives my wife c...

Re: New owner, mountain driving range

Check that dealer for charging capability. Not all dealers have charging. When I travel I use EVgo as most, maybe all, have CHAdeMO connections. Some at malls have only one fast charge. I've seen 2, 4, and 6 connections at other malls and larger shopping areas. The EVgo app shows how many CHAdeMO co...

Re: CHAdeMO

I would pay $500 if it could charge at 40+ KW For the future proofing standpoint and being able to go farther with many more charging locations available, I would be willing to pay up to $2000. If the latest battery design can maintain 80-85% SOH 15+ for years the Leaf would have quite a long futur...

Re: CHAdeMO

Although this doesn't include a date, EVgo has no plans to discontinue CHAdeMO connections on their chargers:

Re: The 62kWh Battery Topic

This seems in one case to show that there's no real harm in QCing. The latest battery design looks to be very good. That makes it even more of a blunder to have not have switched to CCS 4-5 years ago. With a cheap adapter to NACS we all would be covered for many years. Saying this as I got to a work...

Re: OEM charge cable compatibility

From what I have read and others have warned about avoid Mustart unless there is evidence that they got their product updated.

Re: What happens when the battery "overheats"?

There are 2 sites with 4 CHAdeMO 100kW each in MA near I90 at I84 and east of Worcester and 6 in Nanuet NY near I287. Charging for 25 minutes to get 60-65% is nice. I don't need 2+ FC's in my travels.

Re: CHAdeMO

That was very cool! Changing the CHAdeMO connector to a CCS combo connector would be a less expensive solution. Put the protocol converter in a weather-proof box and it might be a feasible change for a Leaf to have CCS FC. Just implement FC as the existing J1772 L2 will be fine unchanged. What price...

Re: Heater Failed 2011 Gen 1

You can add a pressure sensor and turn on a predrive transistor to turn on the MOSFET. You have to empirically find the turn on value at the low fan setting. A more complex circuit could give you more power for higher pressures. Uncharted territory is fun.
