    Seat extensions for tall people

I’m 6’7” and have had their seat extenders installed in my 2011 LEAF for many years. I’m very happy with them.

If you tell us what city you are an, someone nearby may volunteer to bring their ODB-II over to get you an answer sooner.

    Heated Steering Wheel Retrofit

Many people have added heating elements to their seats. There are threads on this forum about how to do it. Haven’t heard of anyone adding heat to the steering wheel. I also wanted to add it, but other than heated steering wheel covers that plug into the cigarette lighter and have to be...

12 volt Battery dying while charging leaf

It is almost undoubtedly a bad 12 V battery. The LEAF never charges it fully so it dies young. I charge mine with a trickle charger once a week to extend its life. When the 12 V battery is bad, all sorts of weird trouble codes show up. There are many posts on this forum about theses problems.

Warning: Battery Replacement Cost Increase (now $8500)

My 2011 LEAF lost its fourth capacity bar last week at 42,000 miles. My Nissan dealer gave a quote of $8900 to replace it. We will just live with it as we don’t drive it very far anymore.

    Seven year report, 2011 LEAF.

We are spoiled and sometimes use the GPS to go somewhere new instead of using a map. Nothing else was wrong besides the dead GPS.

    Seven year report, 2011 LEAF.

My April 2011 LEAF has 40k miles on it. It has been at 9 remaining capacity bars for a couple of years. It only gets driven about 10 miles every other day so the decreased capacity hasn’t been a problem. I just replaced the 12 V battery for the second time. The tires were replaced at 36k miles...

BorgWarner cabin heater extends driving range for new EV

Sounds like it heats the air directly instead of heating water which then uses a heat exchanger to heat the air as is presently done In the LEAF. I Think this will make the heat start more quickly and should slightly mcrease efficiency. After all, in the LEAF, the water reservoir isn't insulated.

I need to find something to block the gear

The car is not allowed to move when it is plugged in. Perhaps you should make your circuit simulate the signal that makes the car think it is plugged in. That may be easier to figure out than the gear.

Any other 6 year owners out there?

Will be 6 years in June. About 40,000 miles. Expect to lose my fourth capacity bar this summer. Hope Nissan will pay for a good part of the replacement. Other than the battery degradation, have been quite happy with the car.

New owner with some longevity questions

The first capacity bar corresponds to about a 15% loss of capacity. Each subsequent one is about 6%. Rate of loss depends critically on temperature. In the LA area a small fraction of people lost 4 bars in five years and hence got the battery replaced free under warranty. Most took a bit longer...

    New Owner dumb minor questions

There are apps that do things similar to the Nissan app. Search the App Store. I'm not making any specific recommendations as I last used an app several years ago. LeadSpy is NOT an app like that. It has completely different functionality and tells you much more than the Nissan app. It tells...

Nissan "Out-of-Warranty" support for battery pack degradation

I took my 2011 LEAF in for its five year battery check. I have lost three capacity bars. The service advisor strongly encouraged me to bring it back when I lost the fourth bar. Said they we're doing partial payments for battery replacements. I was happily surprised by this and plan to do so when...

pre-release testers wanted - range-extending technology for Leaf

It seems to me the device could use an adaptive filter that uses the accelerometer and pedal position correlation to correct for the change in pedal position due to the drivers foot moving due to the vertical acceleration. This would have no lag at all. By making it adaptive, it would...

Broken nav touch screen in 2014 Leaf

My center console had a GPS problem. The dealer sent it in to be repaired. Cost was $150 to the dealer and $580 to the repair place. This might work for you even though you problem is different.
