Nissan warranty services had my dealer do tests that took a couple of days. I suspect they are looking for conditions that could be fixed by replacing some modules, rather than the entire battery.
Got a call from the dealer on Feb 21 saying my car was ready to be picked up. I drove it home that afternoon, with a new 40 kWh battery and 160 mile range :-). So for me, the process went as follows:

I believe I have had the BMS firmware update, but I don’t have the car available right now to check. I know they have done at least one firmware update on the car, but I didn’t pay close attention to what was updated.
