Wow, that is very unusual to have so many fail in the same timespan! I was going to ask about the failure mode, but you answered that. I saw a similar failure mode on many M190s, but like you, I am very disappointed to see it in the M250s as well.
Like you, I purchased enough spares to...
Sorry to hear of your M250 failure.
Line 219 - no failures but four of the M250s have been removed and replaced with S280s in July of 2016 to take advantage of the higher power rating of the S280 with the SolarWorld 275watt modules . Number of installed M250s on that spreadsheet line is now...
Hi RegGuheert,
Yes, I have seen that event log message in the past. It was typically with the older firmware on the fourth generation inverters. Once the firmware is updated you should rarely see this message. If you do see it, the Enphase representative that I spoke with said it can occur...
Thanks again to RegGuheert for helping test out the Python for my Envoy (Pill-Style).
About two months ago I upgraded one of my Envoys to the Envoy-S . The Envoy-S provides more data in JSON format. That allowed me to create several Python scripts for the newer Envoy-S at...
Hey RegGuheert:
Have you read of the sixth generation Enphase IQ inverters with the two-wire cabling system? I suppose a WEEB grounding washer might be involved there, but then again, not sure about the case material on the fifth generation inverters... Thoughts?

Edit...
For me anyway, that is a real tough call. The things that worry me right now don't just relate to the reliability of the product. The warranty is only as good as the longevity of the company and it's financial condition. You might want to do some due diligence on Enphase's current financial...
Thanks ltbighorn.
If I am understanding you correctly, then folks with the Envoy-S could just comment out the first call to the EventLog page and the script should work.
It was difficult to find out that the EventLog page had to be visited first on the older Envoys. If you think about it...
I shared my Python 3 script to archive events with RegGuheert a few days ago. We tweaked the script to add some delays for timeouts with slower Envoys. The script works with the first and second generation Envoys (apparently not the Envoy-S).
The commented script can be read about and...
Question: How many inverters do you have per string?
When my first array was installed we had all 12 M190 inverters on one string. I evaluated it over a month, then due to voltage drop I rewired it to be two strings of six inverters (center fed). For all other poles I went with the...
No problems or updates here. My two Envoys are both:
Current Software Version R3.12.34 (2e8bfe)
Software Build Date Wed Apr 29, 2015 02:28 PM PDT
Envoy Power Line Device 480-00008-r01-v02.0a.19
(No changes since 2015)
Thoughts: I wonder if a strong broadcast station has been updated or...
Please leave the failures at five -- I just looked at the arrays in Enlighten, checking serial numbers against my original configuration. You are correct with five.
No, I purchased two spares in 2012, their serial numbers start with 121046 and 121049.
Yes, I did receive the 72 cell version...
Please add another M190 failure to my system total. This inverter dropped offline completely for three days back on July 5th, then revived itself somewhat, clipping power to about 139 watts until it was finally replaced on Sept 3, 2016. If I am counting correctly that brings me up to six...
Ranss12: It could just be a powerline communications issue. The inverters talk to the Envoy over the powerline. If the signal is marginal or something like a bad ballast in a fluorescent bulb is putting out a lot of noise, then the communication is interrupted.
You might want to look at the...
I visited SolarEdge's site. SolarEdge's Support Page ( http://www.solaredge.us/groups/service/support ) allows "system owners" to initiate support incidents and to track their progress.
