good to hear from an original member! i've still got mine @ 97K mi. but the degraded range puts a big crimp on usability for sure. i'd vote to sell both and get the Tesla. it'll renew your enthusiasm for driving EV again - it definitely did for me!
i'm @ 94K mi on '11. my passenger seat sensor also failed so i bought a bypass cable which seems to work as advertised. my replacement battery has lost 1 bar per sig.
8+ yrs, 85K mi, just lost 1st bar on the replacement battery. swapped out the 12V as a preventative measure at 6+ yrs. Started on my 3rd set of tires. Otherwise no outlay on any maintenance.
i love both cars. the LEAF is the practical around-town econocar that is competent without any drama. the Model 3 is the super fun, fast, long distance, high tech sports sedan that is always exciting to take for a spin.
Agree - the 3 ended up blowing away my expectations. For consumer products (albeit an expensive one) i put it on my personal ranking list of the original ipod touch, and the original directv tivo unit as breakthrough devices. Can't believe your efficiency - my lifetime for 3,000 miles is now...
Glad to see fellow original owners that still have their 2011s. i'm in the same situation as you w/ 78K mi. and using the Lizard replacement. Also still happy with the car's reliability and around-town utility. Despite all the dissapointment surrounding the lame battery longevity, I credit...
good deal on obtaining that elusive VIN#! seemed like it took forever for me but in retrospect I think it's only because our deposit was two years ago :) . I was impressed with the fit/finish and high technical design/performance of the Model 3 (especially after reading all the forum...
Thanks!
I like chill mode for when i'm taking people & my dog in the car since it smooths out the sometimes nauseating-inducing bursts of acceleration that i'm prone to take now. I'll be taking a day trip from SD to LA this weekend and checkout the Falcon 9 1st stage. Fun times!
Luckily in 3+ weeks of ownership on the TM3 and 2000 mi. I have yet to incur any problems that would require me to go to the service center. the regen on the 3 is much stronger than the LEAF, so stop and go travel can be quite efficient. However, I find that the substantial power of the motor...
I've had my 3 for about 3 weeks - it took 4 weeks from config to VIN, and then another week from VIN to delivery. I'm keeping my 2011 LEAF with 76K mi. since it'll still take many of the local short errands. did a san diego to SF road trip the day after delivery and was very impressed with the...
thanks for the info about the Lizard's 1st bar loss point: ~53Ahr. that's 2 Ahr below the original battery's 1st bar loss point; bar loss now seems even more like an arbitrary metric when i compare the two battery performances. sad to hear the improvement over the original battery is only...
i'm surprised you haven't lost the first bar since you are below 55 AHr. I wonder if the Lizard bar loss points are all different from the original batteries.
