Yeah unfortunately I tried holding it for as long as 60 seconds with no response. The car was purchased pre-owned 2 years ago with the problem. I never gave it any thought as the price for the car was good and I didn't see a need to open the head unit. I guess I will just ignore it. Not sure...

I finally got around to taking the wheels off and checking the brakes. I haven't touched the rear, only got around to the fronts. I'm found the metal Shim plate fell right off when I removed the caliper. Cleaned everything up, re-copper greased the tracks they fall into and fingers crossed...

Thanks for the link. In going to give this a try. I have a bad feeling though it's just bad break work. When I bought the car pre owned the dealer kept trying to use the new breaks as a selling feature. I get the feeling the mechanic who did it didn't prep the caliper properly or put in cheap pads.

I heard the 2G signal was going to be active until 2020 in Canada.

I tried to reverse this idea to see if I could get my carwings back up after the 2G deactivation but it looks as though the grey cable is still plugged in. I guess they did something firmware based to disable it.
