All the $60 or so battery specs I looked at on Amazon all use the same low rate cells. 20A max with some with 40A peak with the smallest BMS / PCB. None of these would work in an EV or any car in my opinion (after 12 years of being involved in the Li battery business ). And, Amazon return policy...
Adding cost of battery tender puts the lead acid battery near price of a lithium - $250 with free shipping https://www.lithiummoto.com/12v-ev-lithium-battery and includes bluetooth
( other guys $265 + 19 ship ) = $284
No tender needed with lithium. I work at an auto parts store and the average...
The only reason I can think of to use lead over lithium is upfront cost. $200 vs $250 .
This is short term thinking that is more expensive in the long run. I rarely hear of anyone willing to spend the extra $50... it's crazy.
my 2019 leaf's battery wont hold a charge, so, I looked at Napa agm, $228 + tax = $244
with 3 yr warranty vs a LiFepo4 from LithiumMoto for $250 with 4 yr warranty.
I work in an auto parts store. The average end of life of a flooded battery is 3 yrs and starts to degrade after 2 years. People that get more than 4 years are living on borrowed time.
Yea, its 3 yrs old, but, i couldnt help it. I just saw this and felt compelled to correct the last poster as someone online might read it. And, AG's batteries are STILL made in china, as opposed to one I saw that are made in USA; LithiumMoto.
