Here is some good news:
http://ir.tesla.com/news-releases/news-release-details/tesla-q2-2018-vehicle-production-and-deliveries
Q2 production totaled 53,339 vehicles, a 55% increase from Q1, making it the most productive quarter in Tesla history by far. For the first time, Model 3 production...
FWIW, I've had my 3 since 4/27. It hasn't been in the shop once. I have had absolutely no problems with it. In fact, I just returned from a 4,100 mile road trip to Wisconsin and back. Cruised the freeways at 78 with the AC blasting and had no problems.
The max kW I noticed at the superchargers...
Congratulations Stoaty! I thought about getting a used S but aside from the fact that it wouldn't fit in my garage, I really like getting 310 miles on a full charge. ;)
Thanks dgp. I was forgetting about the in-car nav. I'm really looking forward to the trip. A 300 mile (real-world 250?) range goes along way to quelling anxiety.

Gary,
For what it is worth, here is my experience with the 2011 Leaf battery vs. 2015 Leaf battery in Phoenix.
2011: At 14 months of ownership I was down to 10 battery bars. I parked the car in my garage every day, which gets incredibly hot in the summer -- and retains the heat overnight...
Yay! Ed found another problem with the Model 3. It's a good day.
Ed, the thing is, that guy's door/window issue is a temporary problem. There is no doubt that Tesla is not a mature auto manufacturer. Tesla will fix his issue, and probably give him a loaner Model S or X while they do it. You...
Thanks for the tip. That is what I found out when I took my first trip from Phoenix to Vegas.
I'm planning on following (at least initially) the Tesla trip planner found on their web page. https://www.tesla.com/trips
But I reckon by the end of the trip I will have nailed it as far as knowing...
Meanwhile, back in the real world, I'm loving my model 3. This is a fantastic car. In two weeks I'll be taking it on a road trip to Wisconsin and back. 3,400 miles round trip. I don't expect to be too concerned with how many cars are produced per week or how quickly OTA updates are pushed out. ;)
I got my Model 3 on April 27. The car is amazing. It is the electric car I always wanted. I have already made a trip from Phoenix to Las Vegas. Made a 20 min. stop at a supercharger in Kingman to make sure I had enough juice, but in hindsight I may have been able to make the entire trip on a...
I notice you said that back on Feb. 12, 2016 (page 9 of this thread), so at that time neither you, nor Tesla, knew there would be 400K reservations for the Model 3.
Probably because I arrived early at my store, everyone around me in line was "all-in" for Tesla. Most of them could not afford an S or an X but had been waiting for years for the 3. They were very knowledgeable about the company and the cars. It was actually quite an enjoyable 3.5 hours chatting...
I went into my local store at 7 am expecting to see maybe 15-20 people, and found myself to be #88 in line. Got into the store at 10:20 and was out in 5 minutes. Later in the day the store staff said they estimated the total number of reservations at 800.
I showed up at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall at 7-ish a.m. and found about 80 people in front of me. Someone was giving out tickets and my number was 88. By the time the doors opened at 10 I estimate 300-400 people in line. The actual reservation took 2-3 minutes...
