It certainly blocks a little of that A/C vent but you can see from my side view that there is enough space to let air out.

I just ordered one for my Android phone. I had a couple of ProClip mounts on previous cars and they worked great. Far more expensive than some other alternatives but the most solid dependable professional option in my past cars. I'll let you all know how it works on my LEAF.

Thanks for the advice! I got the ScanTool MX and have been very happy with it. It is quite small so I don't bump it, and hardly ever have to unplug it.

In my opinion: not really. 10 seconds is fine. At 60 miles / hr that is 1 mile a minute, and at 15 seconds that is every 1/4 mile. For simple energy usage that should be fine.
