They started me off with an offer of purchase price minus use. Given that you're the original owner, you'll probably avoid the back and forth that I did to eventually get to MSRP - use + fees and my costs.
Start with "what you paid" x (Your miles /120K) and tack on *all the taxes* (both on...
Actually, less than that. I only paid $13k for the car in the first place, so I'll count getting $16K for it three and a half years later as a "win" :D
My 2016 SV was down enough to trigger the warranty. After 3 months of waiting (and no ETA) I guess the lemon law kicked in, or Nissan decided to lemon law it.
Nissan (eventually, after much back and forth) offered me MSRP + taxes minus the useful life percentage (46K out of 120k) plus all the...
Ouch. Actually, for it to be on 'truth social' I'd have to first disable my spell checker and turn on ALL CAPS.
Well, it got the latest offer up over $7k from the initial offer, so I'll literally take that to the bank. :D
I'm going through a similar saga with my 2016 SV.
Long wait, no ETA, no car (but a gas guzzling loaner) and eventually I was handed over to the arbitration department.
Their offer started at ~$9K (price used, minus the miles I'd accrued, plus fees) - I said no, that the offer had to at least...
Lucky you!
I went back and forth with the arbitration department, and after starting at a $9K offer (used car price I paid three years ago + fees - my use) we eventually reached a deal of just over $16K (Price when brand new + taxes + gas while car was shop - total use)
Best of all, no...
At this point I'm beyond frustrated, because I was told (by the dealer) that I couldn't keep driving the car because Nissan had requested the battery be taken out and drained for shipment
Well, I show up today to get photos of the car (as requested by the Nissan arbitration fellow) and... It's...
Be careful what you wish for
Latest news: They can't offer me an ETA and I've been sent to their arbitration department to negotiate a buyback.
I flat-out told them if the offer isn't enough for a lightly used Leaf with 110+ miles of range I'll probably have to lawyer up.
Has anyone...
Dropped mine off in Early Jan and I'm still waiting on an ETA (let alone a new battery) anyone else having (or had) issues getting an estimated date? Even the dealer doesn't have one yet.
Most annoying part: They've assigned me a caseworker who is sending me weekly updates saying "there' no...
Then I'll likely be getting a new (40kWh) battery as LeafSpy wasn't reporting any bad cells (Okay, maybe one, as far as I can see): https://imgur.com/a/UWhZjfP
Good to know, thanks!
Update on the above post -
We finally got a loaner car (a Nissan Rogue, aka "The anti-LEAF") but the most interesting development was that the dealer service rep said two things:
There's 4 to 6 month wait on a new battery (expected)
They may try and refurbish the existing battery (unexpected)...
Hi all,
Joined just to jump in and well, complain.
I have a 2016 Leaf (30kWh) and I've lost the requisite number of bars, Leafspy tells me "no fresh error codes and your SOH on the battery is 64.57% - below the 66% needed to trigger the warranty." I also checked the battery controlled info and...
