Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

Almost 1 year later I drive both cars and I prefer each car for different reasons, here are the Cliff notes. Nissan Leaf 2011 with 62 kwh battery v. XC40 Recharge ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/C stays on when I leave the car with my key in pocket, Volvo does not, but you can be...

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

Hey Leafers; Here's the latest with the XC40 Recharge saga. 1) Status: XC40 Recharge is back in shop, would not get out of drive for about 1 hour. "Propulsion System" Screen warning image below. 2) Plan: They are going to remove the battery to replace a sensor according to service dept...

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

Actually for all my gripes, we seem to be doing quite well in terms of driving. Mainly on highway with perhaps 25% city, and we're getting around 230 miles per 90% charge (we set maximum at that).... Once in a while we QC, but it has been a pleasure minus my kvetching.... Typically I hit 80 mph...

Summary of latest Volvo XC Recharge gripes ====================================== 1 Did not start other day computer glitch, took 2 hours then did. Taking to dealer next week 2 Screen glitches, replaced, took two weeks, loaner car provided 3 Charger cable not always releasing at both level...

Ac charger not charging, not diode problem.

@nlspace 1) That's a really good question in terms of temperature. On the bar graph, I usually show 1 or 2 of the 4 bars show moderate orange and the rest in the green (Leaf Spy), I'll get a screen shot next drive. 2) In terms of: "i've never heard of anyone plugging in to charge immediately...

Ac charger not charging, not diode problem.

Hi Leafers; So first full charge after changing "Dala" charge % setting 236 (in Park/ D mode) and 260 (in Eco) Mode This still doesn't solve the having to wait 5 minutes before charging though... but range is back (for now!) Aloha!

Ac charger not charging, not diode problem.

Follow up: 1) I forgot that Dala has a system for choosing the amount of battery % you want. I must have inadvertently set it low (a combination of fan speed + a/c/ off). So I reset it and the car is charging again. 2) It's still buggy and it needs about a 5 minute cool down after driving to...

Ac charger not charging, not diode problem.

Aloha folks; I'm also having charging issues. And a couple of members have reached out to me in terms of how to do the diode insertion. So, I'm working through the diode possibility. Just waiting for it (diode) to arrive. My symptoms are not charging on either Level II or QC. My 2011 has...

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

@cwerdna It gets locked in on both Level II and IIII (had it happen on home charger too) @jjeff Yes, I see your point about anti-theft, that could also be accomplished by manual release. Imagine you're in fire country and have to flee (or any other reason for quick exit), you're precariously...

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

So XC40 doesn't have a climate control camping mode (maybe if you weight the front seat), and clearly no dog mode. That means passenger alone doesn't have easy access to a/c when no driver is present. And your pooch, well, not a good ending of that story. One more gripe to my growing list...

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

So, we're in our second week of the loaner car from Volvo (X60), which is also a bit glitchy (this with Apple Car Play)... Our experience is Volvo ride, with crappy electronics. But maybe that's the state of the art with computerie- cars these days. I'm digging the 2011 more and more....

Comparing 2011 (62 kWh) Leaf to 2021 Volvo XC 40 (75 kWh)Charge, because why not

Aloha; A few responses: jjeff: heard great things about the Rav4 Prime, but wanted pure electric again. Volvo seats, quite nice, and my very recent experience between the XC40 and XC 60 is that the 60's seats are even nicer (perhaps a wee more comfortable and has memory 1 and 2 functions)...
