Leaf Spy User Mistake. Can it be fixed?

Like the OP, I too fell into the trap of running the RTP utility with inaccurate tire pressures resulting in dead sensors and an ever-present warning light. I had tried setting the pressures using an analog 'pencil' style gauge. Not recommended. Fortunately, I had a digital gauge I used with a...

    Pondering 22 Leaf SL+

I walked around a local dealer's lot today. Zero new Leafs to be seen. There were 4-5 2018-2019 used units but their listed prices were really high. The car that interested me was a 2019 SV with 8,124 miles on it (and some scratches on the rear quarter panel) and they're asking $25,999. I...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

Some of us aren't. I've leased 3 Leafs since 2011 but I'm now done with Nissan. Which is sad as I liked the cars, just not the battery capacity loss. Which got worse over time.

So your idea of 'rational' is to reject data that doesn't agree with your preconceived notions. Got it.

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

I was recently tempted to take advantage of the relatively low residual on my 2016 SV lease by buying it out. As part of my research for this, I spent 2 weeks 'babying' the battery - never charged more than 80%, did several cycles from 80% down to 30%, and finally charged it up to 100% so...

2011 with new battery vs. 2013 with 12 bars

I am constantly amazed by the depth of care salesman ignorance. I showed LeafSpy to my dealers 'Leaf Expert' when I leased my 2016 and it was like I was showing him an alien artifact. It must be a thankless job to attract such an unmotivated work force.

    End of Lease Strategies?

I'd love to know the thought process behind Nissan's 'no discount' policy. Do they really want a glut of used Leafs flooding their 2018 sales market? The leaked data of the 2019 model specs will already make potential buyers hesitate and giving these people a cheap 'wait and see' option seems...

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean your battery isn't after you. :)

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

    For an interesting comparison, here's my car's stats: Manf. Date: 12/2015 Delivery Date: 3/31/2016 Delivery Miles: 25 Delivery SOH%: 100 Delivery Hx: 97.60 QC: 1 L1/L2: 4 Current data: Miles: 7112 AHr: 67.79 SOH%: 85.29 Hx%: 80.41 QC: 1 L1/L2: 228 It would seem that I might be on the ragged...

If only I could be sure that this would make a difference.

    End of Lease Strategies?

The Leaf is our #2 vehicle and only used for my commute to work, which is only 4 miles away. I'm sure the numerous short trips didn't help the battery, though the 2013 it replaced still had a SOH of 92% after the same service life.

    End of Lease Strategies?

Perhaps they're trying to supply their dealers with cars they can 'flip' for a quick buck? My latest stats are: AHR - 66.67 SOH - 84.26 365.7V HX - 79.69 ODO - 6,985 1 QC 223 L1/L2 Still have 12 capacity bars. Isn't the first supposed to drop when you the SOH reaches 85%?

    End of Lease Strategies?

I called NMAC today and requested a 6-month lease extension on my 2016 SV which expires in April of 2018. No free months were offered and I sensed a reluctance on NMAC's part do the extension. It was only after I told them that I was waiting for the 2019 200-mile model that they approved it...
