That's probably a $500 job.
Dealer charges $150 for a diagnosis..applied to the cost if I proceed.
Think I will cancel my service appointment..AM radio not worth that amount of money.
AM and FM..(Sirius is OK,) has very poor reception until the radio has been on for about 10 minutes. Then it is OK.
This just started..any ideas?

The shop did run a battery load test and found it to be completely dead and after 4.5 years of use, I do not feel that the dealer had any fault in the battery having failed..like someone walking into a hospital at the age of 90 to have a splinter...
Mine crashed at 4.5 years..22.600 miles.. and you don't want for that to happen. TERRIFYING..a complete system shut down with a 5 second warning. I am only glad I was not at 30,000 feet or over the Potomac River, as I am not Captain Skully. Nevertheless, I managed to get it out of the traffic...
If it smells like "bad feet," it is because bacteria/mold has grown on the evaporator collector plates.
Try spraying 409 or a disinfectant into the air intake with the fan on high. You may need to do that several times. Once it has stopped smelling..assuming you have now killed the mold.. be...
So I take my '13 SL with 22,300K miles to my dealer for a car wash. They have it sitting there for 30 minutes with the flashers on. It's getting late, so I go to reclaim the car, (which hasn't been washed yet,) and there is no light on the started button..completely dead.
