    Charging problems

My first suspicion is you have a ground issue. Lots of stuff works OK without a ground. EVSE does not. I learned that when I got the Leaf and it wouldn't charge though the garage plug worked OK for general use. Old house, no grounding.

    Wheel & tyre sizes

Wider lower profile tire is likely to 'stick' better on dry pavement, handle more precisely, but probably be worse in heavy rain, and seriously worse in snow. IMO, they may ride noticeably worse, possibly more noisy, and may get worse mileage but that is dependent on a number of other factors...

There are a bunch of types of lithium batteries what type is a given 12v?

Have at it for an education. Good resource on all types of batteries. https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-205-types-of-lithium-ion 123 were a brand if LiFePO4. They came in 14500 and 26650 size. I still have a couple very old 123 in flashlights. Safer lithium tech, but much lower energy...

How to get moving if your 12v battery is dead (ZE1)

Yes, there are hoards. A LOT of it is also marketing BS. This guy does a creditable job of ACTUALLY testing a bunch in both 22 and 23. Great site, recommended. It doesn't HAVE to be 'amazing'. You aren't starting a diesel V8, just 'booting' the car. IMO reliability is more important than...

Do I need to keep my key in a coffee can and arrange an armored pocket?

You might want to test that. When I was experimenting with 'protecting' the Prius key, I tried putting it in a small aluminum box. The signal still got through. Steel box worked. I would not think the Leaf would be different.

Do I need to keep my key in a coffee can and arrange an armored pocket?

I do, but it's a much more attractive and smaller cookie 'can'. An aluminum security tin didn't seem to work. ;) Current generation of car thieves are a new breed of creep that will steal ANYTHING. That said, I don't think the Leaf is a particular target, and mine is in the garage for charging...

    Dealer Bricked my Leaf?

Sounds like a jump starter. This guy does a decent job of reviewing.....some.....of them. There are hoards. He also did 2022 for even more. They change constantly. You CANNOT trust Amazon, most of the reviews (ignorant) OR the marketing (BS). They can, and will, claim anything they want to, and...

EV body repair SNAFU - Be aware

Interesting. Seattle is a 'hotbed' of BEV. One would think they had a policy in place here. They did admit that even getting staff trained to deal with BEV specific issues was a problem. Small companies can do what they want, within OSHA rules, should they chose to abide by them. There is...

EV body repair SNAFU - Be aware

This is something to be aware of. ASK, before you even bother to take a BEV car for an estimate. Our 2014 Leaf was in a minor side-swipe. Both doors got paint scratches, maybe very minor dents, and the panel over the rear tire definitely dented. We haven't had an auto body incident in 20+...

New Leaf owner (Tekna 2022), need help on pretty much all…

First thing to do is download [Plugshare] - https://www.plugshare.com/ (also a phone app). The Leaf does have a setting on the console dash that will show stations also but it's only as up to date as when it was created. Don't know if it's updated via internet connection. Phone is better...

New to me - 2014 Leaf SL

Have the same car in silver. Love it. First car I've actually liked in years. Of course the major question is...how many battery bars, and have you gotten Leafspy app and OBDII dongle?

Will this portable battery pack work to jump a 2013 leaf?

4 weeks on a NEW battery? Was it fully charged after installation? Preferably with a charger, not just driven. What year Leaf? The older models can be poor at maintaining 12v charge. I have a 12v battery tender and top it at least once a month (2014 year, original battery). New cars always...

Will this portable battery pack work to jump a 2013 leaf?

Massive overkill, but should work fine. I've used much more modest packs on ICE cars. I wouldn't buy it, just for that, costs more than a new battery. If the battery is suspect, I'd get a new one instead. You only need to boost the 12v up to 'boot' level. It's easier than an ICE jump start...

    Michelin CrossClimate2

These look a LOT like the old Aquatread, retired a good while back. One of the best tires I've ever had on any car. I was terribly disappointed when it was removed from the line. As cars have changed, and myself with it, there are 2 variables that I am curious about with these; noise and LRR. I...

    Skinny tire range extender?

I have a 2014 SL with 17" rims. Did the early Leafs come with 15" rims, maybe with the same bolt pattern?
