I haven't been able to find a 2018 battery with a few web searches for salvage/wrecking yards, so I'm not sure what the battery cost might be, that would be a big factor, obviously. But if it is anywhere close to a new nissan 24kWh batt, the decision is made!
This is certainly food for thought, as I am at 7 bars and considering selling the car, having Nissan put in a replacement batteryu or, now, this new option!
Crazy huh? That's why I never buy new (OK, I did once, out of about 20+ vehicles, it was a brand new model and I broke even selling it a few years later). Hopefully most people that buy a new vehicle have at least an inkling that this will be the case, especially purchasing luxo/near luxo type...
Yup, and I can get that $1k Tesla, if I am real lucky and am willing to travel across the country!
I don't think I will be making any statistical analysis on depreciation per mile, based on two ebay auctions.

Of 485 used Model S for sale on cars.com, the cheapest is $37.9k and only 16 under $40k
Of 470 on autotrader...

Every body panel looks different (front, rear, hood, tailgate, front and rear quarters, rear doors, only one I'm not sure of is the front doors. If it is using the "old leaf" they have retooled the exterior body panels almost completely.
Huh? That vid is just the spy pics from several weeks ago, set to music. The same pics which I mentioned, look to me, to confirm it is a different platform. There are quite a few differences to my eye (looks like a new model, not a cosmetic refresh on same platform), but it must look nearly...
Looks like we don't have to work about the Leaf 2 being a cosmetic refresh of the old chassis:

Those with an innate disdain for Tesla will find any reason to "not like" (hate?) the Model X, but for those who are more logical, you can use things like the NHTSA crash test ratings to see how the X compares to other SUVs or cars.
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration just...
