traction battery drawing 1.5kw at 70mph while in neutral, less at slower speeds

1.2kw is almost 10% of the available power in my pack over the course of an hour (75% soh 24kwh pack), so I would disagree with your 'very little bit of power' statement. I was toying around while coasting down a long hill on the interstate if you must know the reason. I found a thread from 2013...

traction battery drawing 1.5kw at 70mph while in neutral, less at slower speeds

something else is drawing power, this is not regen because the car was in neutral, sorry for the terminology mixup. And wierdly enough that power getting pulled from the traction battery scales with speed. The only thing i can think of is the motor spinning in neutral is still consuming some...

traction battery drawing 1.5kw at 70mph while in neutral, less at slower speeds

Hey Guys, Has anyone noticed why the traction battery draws about 1.5kw of power at 70mph, tapering down to about 300w at zero pretty linearly (via leafspy)? The 300w matches what the leaf power consumption (other devices) screen shows, but at speed, the traction battery according to leafspy is...

2016 Altima Power Window Switch (lighted buttons!)

Yeah the buttons come apart fairly easily once you have the switch out, just need some small flat blade screw drivers to get the tabs back and open the whole thing up.

New Nissan EV app is out!

Are you guys in areas where 3G is not shut down? Or are you all with newer Leafs? My 2013 Leaf has a 'no service' symbol on the top right of the screen, so no app for me for a few months already, even though I did the 3G upgrade back in 2017.. :(

Molykote M77 for axle click fix

Hey Guys, Where have you all bought the Molykote M77 that Nissan recommends for the axle clicking fix? Amazon seems to sell it in a 1 kg jar for 300 bucks, seems a bit excessive :) The nissan part number in the TSB points to seemingly the same jar too.. This is the TSB i am referring to...

HowTo: Nissan Leaf Transmission / Gearbox Replacement

Hey Guys, About a year ago while messing about with different gear oils, I started hearing a humming noise from my gearbox and was certain that my gearbox was going bad. I then got busy building a sauna and have been ignoring the cars. I kept driving the car with the humming noise and it slowly...

Reduction Gear Oil Change - Benefits for Range

i have still not replaced my gearbox, and am running the 75w90. The noise has gotten slightly worse over the last month or so, but is still bearable. I don't have temperature sensors in the oil, but i have no significant increase in heat to report. The gearbox on a 68F day, to the left of the...
