I was thinking about calling the dealership if I hadn't gotten an answer here, but I wasn't optimistic they'd have the answer either. Or that they'd be helpful, since I hadn't bought the car from them. But we're good now.
Thanks again.
Thanks. All fixed.
From my experience with other cars, I assumed that it would be like clearing a dash warning light, where I'd have to do some combination of pushing buttons while turning the ignition on or off. It didn't occur to me to just go into the menus.
Our 2013 SL just passed 24,000 miles, so now a reminder to change the AC air filter comes up on the navigation screen every time we start the car. I've changed the filter, but haven't found how to turn off the nag.
Anyone?
Good idea: I'll air condition our Las Vegas garage. That should only cost two or three times the price of replacing the Leaf's battery pack! :D
But I'll be much more comfortable while I'm in there doing all the maintenance work the Leaf needs.
Hey, wait a minute!
Thanks everyone. Having read a fair amount of the tech talk here, I assumed that someone had figured out the optimal charging strategy for every possible scenario.
I'm okay with charging whenever it seems to be a good idea, but I half expected that if I said here that we put it on the charger...
My wife has a 10-mile round-trip commute every day. She occasionally runs errands that add a few miles, but most weeks could probably go for the whole week (or nearly so) without recharging.
What is our best strategy for prolonging the battery life?
Charge every night? (We currently have the...
If I had bought it from a Nissan dealer, I might have pressed that even after the sale, since it wouldn't have cost them much. But it wasn't a Nissan dealer, so I'm just eating this one.
Yeah, I thought so, too, which is why I didn't think to check on it before I drove it away. I didn't realize that without the Premium package that included Bose stereo (which I wouldn't pay a penny extra for) and AroundView (which I don't like as much as the ordinary backup camera), you got no...
I spoke to the parts department and got the same story, so I bought a fob online. When I call to make an appointment to reprogram the car with the new fob, I'll mention that I know someone who was only charged $80 and see if they'll give me that price.
Also, the dealer does not program the...
After all my talk about waiting a few weeks to check the market, I woke up yesterday to find the dealership had dropped the price on the silver one from $11,000 to $10,000. I looked at all the 2013+ SVs and SLs within 500 miles (almost 200) and only 7 were priced lower than that, and they all...
Here in Vegas, all the dealers want at least $120 to reprogram another key, and at least 3 locksmiths I found on Angie's List also want $120. No cheap way out for me, except that I bought the fob on eBay for less than $50, and didn't pay the dealer $180+. :x
