Sorry all for the lapse in updates. I’ve been struggling with dependencies and performance.
I’m working on my own native communication layer that will handle WiFi/Bluetooth communication to match performance of other apps.
I’m updating the google play link now
You'll want to pass a filter with "ATCF5B3", "ATCRA5BX" to get battery SOH for example. Buffer Overflow is a limitation of the ELM.
See some of my code here for documented codes (bottom of page): https://github.com/blandman/HappyLeaf/blob/master/app/services/flow-manager.js

The interface will be fully customizable, the cards will have the ability to move, change size, and display any data the user wants. Adding new cards coming soon. :D
I found traction battery volts at 7BB D0:D1line 03 at a scale of * 100.
IE: 239830385A038F00 = 389.6 volts
I imagine the traction battery amps are somewhere here too, but I don't know at what scale.
Metrics should work, Km is read from the car and changes units automatically. Charging Amps/Volts may not work on 6kw charging at this time.
I don't do any comparing GIDs to a "maximum value", but GIDs are actually the only way to calculate watts remaining (at least the OBD messages I can...
I'm still searching for these codes. I've come up empty handed. I can't seem to get all the codes from the master spreadsheet either. 1XX Codes pertaining to BMS/VCM don't show up when I query for them directly, or with any kind of Mask/Filter.
Thanks! That is an easy change.
I would love to replace that Lead Acid toxic hazard with a nice lithium pack.
I also added average speed to the graph, makes for some interesting visuals. (Need to change the color from that gray)
(Battery temp isn't really 80 degrees, this isn't parsing...
Reserved :D
I'm still unable to get certain codes, many EVCan codes I can't find or filter for, and I'm at a loss to any 792/793 codes. I can get detailed SOC with 7BB responses, but that's the extent of ATFCSH messages I'm querying for. I feel like I've read a good third of the OBD...
Hello Leaf community,
I've been writing an Android/iOS app that borrows interface elements from other Hybrid/EV cars to display data from a Bluetooth ELM327 OBDII device for the past month or so. It's really shaping up well, but before it's ready for the Google Play store, I have a lot of work...
It would be surprising if there wasn't a message, considering the key fob interacts with a module somewhere in the car.
At very minimum there could be a message that alerts if the charge door was open or closed.
All speculation since my 2012 doesn't have an automatic port door.
Back in December I did this to my Leaf on an obsessive DIY binge. It's still working three months later, I'm planning on buying more LEDs to redo the bottom strips, but haven't had time or money.

I use PLA in my printer. I think technically it is a corn starch, bioplastic if you will: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polylactic_acid
This is a good idea, I didn't think about moisture. I will spray the bottom of the cap with something like this (Flex seal)...
I wanted to share this with everybody for the sake of lost fluid caps of the future.
I was adding more brake fluid today and accidentally dropped the cap below the motor. Being as there is a solid floor, it didn't hit the ground but instead ricocheted off the floor presumably never to be seen...
I want to do this to my 2012 leaf as well. Could you provide a parts list of what you used?
You programmed your own interface to the CANbus? I tried writing an Android app to read the CAN bus, but I wasn't able to get the protocol right, only a bunch of OK messages.
I would love to learn from...
