Have been on various waiting lists with local dealers as well as Nissan Canada for about a year for the leaf. got my "invite" to register online to hold a vehicle several weeks ago when everyone else in Canada did. Logged in, followed all the steps, picked the car , completed they surveys...

Barrons' reporter runs Leaf flat in Manhattan

Really? I own a gen2 prius - IN fact I was on the waiting list to buy it when it came out and it's the vehicle I am trading on the leaf -you sure picked the wrong car as your example oh the real irony!!! - and my prius has been extremely consistent in both its economy and it's...

Barrons' reporter runs Leaf flat in Manhattan

Fine - I'll play devils advocate - I've also heard that manufacturers often make lavish claims about economy and mileage. So if an oem Told you a car needed to be filled up every 700 miles and then a reporter tested it and found that claim could be out by as much as 25% would you be angry at...

Barrons' reporter runs Leaf flat in Manhattan

I am surprised at how many people here are upset that the reporter found a few issues with the vehicle. The report seemed fair and balanced to me.

Barrons' reporter runs Leaf flat in Manhattan

FYI when you "just report on how nice a car it is" you are not reporting - that's in fact called marketing. I'm glad people are testing the strengths and weaknesses of the vehicle and the support network. Without tests like this nothing will be improved upon, and clearly there are things that...

Barrons' reporter runs Leaf flat in Manhattan

Why plan a 75 mile trip with a vehicle that claims a 100 mile range? I suppose to see if the claims are true. It would appear that the reporter did her job IMHO. I thought it was a good report. FYI journalists typically test conventional vehicles for their claimed range. Some pass, some...

observation on requirements for AV charging station install

thanks for the request for install assistance, but I'm booked solid with what would be considered "real" electrical work. FYI any homeowner should be able to install this themselves - you can find all you need at lowes or home depot and you can pull a homeowners permit with your city.

observation on requirements for AV charging station install

That list of requirements would be like telling someone they could not buy an HDTV or a microwave - "just because"

observation on requirements for AV charging station install

Hi, New here - first post ... I've been watching the site for a while. I'm on the waiting list for a leaf, and I happen to be an electrician. I've been planning my install for a charging dock and observed with extreme curiosity the "Electrical Capacity Requirements" listed on page 50 of the...
