OK, So I tried to use the one at Kailua Shell. Broke yesterday! Yep, somebody broke it. They expect to have it fixed next week. Think the one in Waipio is working?
The one at Kahala broke the first day. According to the attendant I talked to someone tried to put it in wrong, forced it, and broke a pin. They hope to have it fixed later this week. Try calling first if you are planning on using it.
I stopped by the Kahala Aloha Mini Mart on my way home (on my bicycle) Monday and they now have a Level III charging station. It will be ready for use on Wednesday (they are having a ceremony at 10:00 am). There is also one available at the Aloha Mini Mart in Waipio and the Shell in Kailua. I've...
It turns out it is taxable income. I talked to the IRS and the explained that because the rebate was paid by someone other than who I was purchasing the vehicle from it is taxable income. If it was a Nissan or dealer rebate it would have been considered a reduction in price. There is an...
Got a 1099-Misc from the State of Hawaii, Hawaii Electric Vehicle Ready Rebate Program today listing the $5,000 rebate I got for my Leaf as other income. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not this is taxable income? I think not, but I've been known to be wrong on rare occasions.
Yeah, I saw that post. If this is the case then I think someone (I'll do it) should take them to small claims court. Where is the Alii Pl. parking lot?
Well, we can count upper campus at UH Manoa off the list of places we can park since I lost my case in small claims court. The judge seemed most bothered by the fact that Act 290 1997 was never actually codified into the HRS. This has no bearing whatsoever on its legality but that seemed to have...
I stopped by the Green Energy Outlet on Ilaniwai Street in Kaka'ako today and was informed that there is now a fee to charge at their station. I was nonetheless able to charge for free because I have my own Charge Point card. Apparently if I didn't have my own card they would have swiped it with...
I think the VIN means they have manufactured your car. So it should be on the next Nissan boat that arrives in Hawaii. In my case I got my Leaf several weeks before the Nissan web site said I would.
To check the balance in the Hawaii EV rebate fund go to http://hawaii.gov/dbedt/info/energy/evrebatesgrants/rebates As of June 20 there is $1,136,487.80 remaining. That is enough for rebates for 227 more EVs.
