Vehicle For Sale 2017 SV "coulis red" color - Salvage condition + parts (near Chambersburg, PA)

This week I bid and won this Leaf on Copart. I have parts off my old 2012 SV (also posted here for parts) and foolishly did not realize they are not the same color. I thought I would swap the door (or both) and fix and retouch the bottom only. Unfortunately they are very different reds. This...

no heating: (Blower runs but only cold air) (2012)

Yes, check to see if it's pulling about 3KW or not. It will lower the range, no matter if it's pulling current or not. Also, just to make sure, you're not low on coolant are you? Although, the PTC is positioned fairly low, so if it doesn't get any or enough coolant that may be harmful over all...

no heating: (Blower runs but only cold air) (2012)

That happened to my 2012 as well. Do you not have a warning light on the dashboard? When you turn the heater on and look at the energy monitor, does it show energy going to the heater, like 3 to 5 kw? If you do, then you should be able to read the code with leafspy. I believe it is most likely...

Part For Sale Leaf 2012 SV - For PARTS

For Parts a Red Nissan Leaf 2012 SV, near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. It has the cream colored interior. I think it was somewhere in the higher 90k miles. The seats are covered - they aren't in perfect condition but I don't think terrible either. It was never in an accident as far as I know...

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

One other note, it's really welcoming to see the regenerative breaking so much improved on the 2015. I don't think I ever saw maximum on the 2012 (even when the battery was better at about 75% SOH) but the 2015 does it no problem and even at 30F cold.

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

Well, after about a month (mostly waiting for parts) I was able to get my 2015 in shape and running. It's fun to have a Leaf again and with a bit more mileage. Insurance was actually OK, they wanted to see photos of the car from all angles and that was all. A bit more expensive inspection to...

Need help with codes and problems after battery pack replacement in 2012

I once bought a 75% SOH battery from a wrecked 2012 Leaf for my 55% same year Leaf. Just to make sure there would be no trouble I opened up both battery packs and swapped their battery management boxes. Afterwards I also got stranded once because of wrong guessometer reading and all - didn't...

2012 Charges 10 Seconds then stops

Don't know if OP is still at it, but... My 2012 had the same issue @ 99k miles. I don't think I did anything outside the ordinary either - may have had power outage at the time, not sure. For the last 25k miles I had used a 3rd party 240V charger, Duosida I think. I pulled out the OBC from the...

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

Well, at this point, for better or for worse, I've started fixing the 2015 (including painting components). I'll have to chuck it to life experience. It really wasn't worth the cost and headache... Hopefully the 2015 will prove a sweet ride. I like it as a whole and it drives perfectly but yes...

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

There are actually quite a number of differences regarding front components between 2012 and 2015 (I presume this would include 2013 to 2017). Mine is 2015 though built on 6/14. I'm not quite finished rebuilding but here is what seems pretty much the same: - bumper (including fog lights etc.) -...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

I'm not sure why Nissan did it this way but the bars display is not proportional to battery health percentage. In other words 100%/12bars = 8.33% per bar. But you would loose the first bar at around 85% not 91.67%. So you would probably see a bar go soon? See this table here for example: SoH & bars

    2020 Leaf with 75,000km VS 2018 Leaf with 35,000km

Hmm, I've had 2 Leafs and seen others and the bars never "lied" in that way...

Would you pay 10k for this?

I'm guessing the trim is an SV since it has the Navigation / touch screen rather than the buttons interface and it shows the different charging options. 2014 means the better battery but 10 bars could be 10 almost 11 or 10 almost 9. Can't know without leafspy and seeing only 50mi guesstimate...

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

Thank you for your input. Yes I didn't really want to go 2015 -> 2012 either and there really isn't any point in that (far too much work if even realistically possible). So will work at repairing the 2015. I took it apart yesterday evening and have it almost ready to receive parts from 2012 so...

    Building a 2012 Leaf with 2015 components

I probably have a weird question... I own a 2012 Leaf SV with almost 100K miles with battery at about 55% (6 bars). The body is in good shape but the OBC (on board charger) failed and the PTC heater failed also(this one a couple years ago - I ran a couple winters with no heat, not fun but the...
