Suspect this is normal for the environment we live in. Hope the new battery warranty we have heard about is real, Nissan rep said to expect a letter soon when I called in to report the loss. I got a case number, but didn't ask for anything at this time. We'll see how the summer in Tucson treats me, Otherwise the car has been great. Really like the acceleration when I've needed it"

I was toying with the idea of trading in the lease for a 2013, but now with 11 bars the plummeting value death knell has begun and those rose-colored glasses are off. It's still a great car to drive, and I can only hope that Nissan gets it's **** together with 2014 and thermal battery management. If not, I'll simply support a competitor that does."

No QC and always garaged with driving in eco mode only. The annual checkup last month only confirmed one bar lost with dealer service adviser telling that it is performing as expected. Now I get the low battery warning every day on my regular home to work and back trip. Hopefully Nissan will address this issue as otherwise the leaf needs to go since it won't meet my 60 mile weekday commute in winter. UPDATE: Finally, Nissan reviewed my case and bought back in early November indicating clearly that this is for customer satisfaction and not due to the lemon law from any defect."

The 100% charges were done just before I drove so the car spent no time sitting with a full charge. Never drove below 2 SOC bars. Received all 5 stars at my first annual, which was on 7/25/2012. I only charge every other day or so. I start to charge at 6 in the morning and usually leave around 9 so my Leaf doesn’t even spend much time at 80% charge. My Leaf has spent 90-95% of its time between 3 and 8 SOC bars. My long term average is 5.7 m/kwh and I drive on the frontage roads, not the highway, so I never exceed 45 mph. Exclusively in Eco. It is parked under a carport. I am out in the desert so there is no blacktop or concrete, just dirt. Tucson averages about 6 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Summer temp bars are usually 6, I have driven (but not charged) with 7 temp bars for short durations, but not many times."

Charge to 100% maybe twice a month, the rest of the time charge to 80%. I did try to baby my battery this summer by keeping the max SOC to 7 bars. 5 stars on my yearly battery check. Life time average of 5.0 mile/kWh"

There is a 1000 feet altitude change when this occurs. Car is parked under covered parking during the day; temp is often 110 degrees and up in the summer even in the shade. Car is garaged at night. We have noticed that if we need to charge earlier (ie when the temp is still 90ish degrees as opposed to say at 3 am when it might be 80...) we don't get as much range.
