Hilarious. Someone at work sent me https://sustainablerace.com/.

It's an 8 bar '13 Leaf w/170K miles. The funny part is
Million Dollar Battery
The LEAF's battery range is dropping more quickly with age, making the battery a very valuable research piece. If interested, the battery can be purchased for $1,000,000. Serious inquiries only.

The vehicle should also be of great interest to collectors and historians in this age of climate change upheaval. Despite the great wealth in the Bay Area, climate change is largely ignored. Here, the gasoline guzzling SUV is the prize, even as king tide waters lap onto city sidewalks.

How about worthless? I mean, I put up an ad of a 4 bar Leaf earlier this year. There are so many Leafs w/8 bars or less floating around.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/nissan.leaf.owners.group/permalink/2717658748304949/ (closed group) says
"2014, Czech Republic, 24 kWh, 200.000km, original battery, taxi" (I fixed their wrong unit usage).

Still has 12 bars. Unclear if this is with or w/o "lizard" pack as the build month is unknown and I don't know if they go by model years there. SOH at around 85.28% and Hx at 80.88%

Found another 5 bar loser at https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/san-leandro-2013-nissan-leaf-electric/6870247667.html. The price is a comical $6988 for an S trim.

I wonder if either of these hit 9 bars before the capacity warranty expired but the previous driver was clueless/didn't care.
Archived copy of the above at https://web.archive.org/web/20190513093032/https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/san-leandro-2013-nissan-leaf-electric/6870247667.html.

Looks like it's still up for sale for a comical $6988 at https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/san-leandro-2013-nissan-leaf-electric/6920084045.html. The VIN's the same, ending in 400343. I wonder if these guys have a clue that it's overpriced for the battery condition on an S trim? I came across it in mid-May 2019 and now in July, it's still up.

What's even worse is that they wrote "Has a Clean Access Vehicle decal which allows you to drive in the HOV lane with under the minimum number of occupants. " It has the expire white stickers. If they were applied for before 2017 (odds are high this is the case), they can't be renewed.

I'll do them one better. I'll sell my 7-bar battery for only $500k. Its a STEAL. Free shipping too...

So, I was at a local dealer to get the "required" annual battery report done. Service advisor asked how many capacity bars I had. I answered 11.

He mentioned he bought a used '13 Leaf and it had 8 bars but soon after dropped to 7. I told him about the build month 4/2013 thru model year '14 improvement, temperatures, high SoC, etc. He took me to his Leaf and sure enough, it was built 3/2013 and was an S trim.

I told him about the 100K mile '13 Leaf in the Seattle area all 12 bars and the Phoenician w/same build month as mine who lost his 4th bar in late 2016 (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=473995#p473995).

He didn't know where his car resided before off the top of his head other than Bay Area, but he could check.

He wondered why Nissan doesn't cool the batteries and wondered about why bad cells can't be swapped out. I replied about how they usually aged evenly and thus wouldn't do much good. But, I told him to look up CVLI test in the service manual. I also showed him some screenshots from Leaf Spy. At the end, I told him about LELink and Leaf Spy Pro in the App Store (he was carrying an iPhone).

He seemed ok w/what he got (he said he got it cheap) due to saving $ on buying gas. And, I guess it met his range needs as he could at least L2 charge for free at his dealer.

Man I don't know he doesn't look like a loser to me ha I am at 7 bars, with roughly 62,000 miles on my 2012 (I bought used in 2015) and when I get in my car in the morning to go to work I have 36-38, which I kind of milk to get to work, then I have anywhere from 16-20 to get home (my job is 34 miles round trip) and that's enough because traffic (405 South) is **** on the way home so I make power, usually 3-5 so I get home with 4 left =) Sometimes my hubby will ask me to get food on the way home ?? if it's not on my route ? it ain't happening ! So I think I am more of a loser than him !

This is the worst '13 I've seen so far. I'd posted about a 9 bar loser '12 before (https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=513873#p513873) but https://www.facebook.com/groups/437741293059829/permalink/1307098402790776/ has a pic of a 9 bar loser '13, also in Sri Lanka.

He mentions it's a '13 and the % SoC display is up. It has only 48K km (just under 30K miles).

GOM shows 21 km (about 13 miles) at 45% SoC.

The hilarious part is some woman in fantasy land alleges one can sell the battery on that 9 bar loser and the battery's worth "about $3,000".  How about nearly $0?

From the table at https://web.archive.org/web/20140505024023/http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Battery#Battery_Capacity_Behavior, 3 bars left probably means under 35% capacity remaining.

Same guy (initials JC) posted recently at https://www.facebook.com/groups/437741293059829/permalink/1315559101944706/ showing that he is now at 6 bars. From his earlier post, it seems he's in Texas.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/nissan.leaf.owners.group/permalink/3040261636044657/ (closed FB group) shows a 7 bar loser (5 bars left) '13 at 67.5K miles. Guy's initials are FF. He's somewhere in California and his build month is currently unknown.

Just lost first bar. 34k km, OCT 2013 model, spent most of its life in France and the Netherlands, been 6 months since it’s moved in Greece. Guess didn’t stand the heat!

It’s been a month since I charged to 100%, only do 80% for less degradation, any chance this could be a BMS mis-calculation?

I got the car a month ago and did around 2000km since then. Do you think there’s a high chance that it was tampered with?

Haven’t plugged in an OBD adaptor yet.

Lost my 4th bar at some point last month (with around 57,500 miles on it). I'm honestly not sure if I should be following this thread or the 2011-2012 thread since my battery is the original build and not the improved build. I was hoping it would make it a bit longer before dropping that bar, but I'm not sure what the history was other than it lived in the New England area for most of its life prior to my purchasing it.

Is there a thread for people looking to dispose of their old batteries (to someone who's looking for cells for energy storage)? I'm looking for "wolf" packs and lizard packs on the cheap, but would consider the '11 and '12 down to 4 bars remaining if they can be had for dirt cheap?

Yeah, something along those lines, but significantly cheaper!! And I really just want the battery, so if someone is doing a battery swap and looking to recoup some value from the old cells?

.
I'm under the impression that Nissan takes the old battery in a swap. I think any cells on the secondary market are from totaled cars.
You might actually have better look looking for Tesla modules or packs since the cars are a lot more common.
