I have my LEAF a month and mostly drove it in "B" mode. Now I am shifting freely between "D" and "B", and of late doing a little "N" to coast.

Is there any danger shifting between "D", "B" and "N" while moving?

Also are you protected from going into "R" and "P" while driving? I assume those require ZERO speed and foot on brake?

It is safe. The "shifting" is just electronic mode changing - there is no actual, physical changing of gears, even for reverse. The one speed drivetrain is always meshed.
